Default The shine Kit for the sc400

Im sure most of you know that a Replica Autocouture kit has come out for the sc400/sc300/soarer.

Im going to buy it and was thinking if anyone else was interested we might be able to get a group buy thing going.

I know there aren't many of us here, but i figured i would ask, before i pull the trigger.

Details can be found here

Hopefully they have already modified the kit extensively before you buy it

i know, but this isn't just fiberglass. its a composit i believe.

And knowone, arent you the person with the thread about this kit. im awaiting updates to see how it fits.

None the less, i would get the real thing but i think the fitment issues aren't as bad on the shine one. Also the added money i save can further my car project. This car is gonna me the death of me =)

its probably the duraflex fibreglass then, the ones i know that use this technique are extreme dimensions. the issue is it requires bondo to smooth the surface. the surface comes pretty rough.

either way, ive spend enough money fixing my prelude's front lip and the first set of side skirts i had on that car were fibreglass. they crack at first hit =/

Don't take this the wrong way, but please don't ruin the look of an SC, especially yours, with something fake. It looks great the way it is, but if u really want some sort of body upgrade just throw on a 97+ bumper, and ur good.
Ppl can always tell fake stuff, and it just makes it look ricer with the poor fitment, not to mention as soon as u bump it against something it's done..

i dont like the 97 front bumper, sides or back bumper. i think it makes the car look too bulky (personal opinion, i know im one of very few that feel this way). I know doing the 97+ conversion is popular, its just not for me. if i had a choice i would buy a 99 for the vvti and 5spd and convert it to a 95 body =) Like i said i like the AC kit but im not about to spend the same amount of money as i spent on the car for the kit. And honestly, im not elitest at all. I could care less that it's a knock off. its purely cosmetic. Also the fitment issues have been worked out in the shine kit that are prevalent in the AC kit. So as far as that goes, seems like this kit is the better choice for fitment issues if i like the style.

I appriciate everyones input, but im kinda decided. Just wanted to see if anyone wanted to get one at the same time.

That all being said. Any SC (except the 430) looks good to me 92-99. its my favorite car and i purchased it for a reason
