Interest in Supra TT Space Saver Spare GB?

What's wrong with this Picture ? ? ?
Banana,
are you saying they want $117 for just the spacesaver wheel specifically for a Supra TT or could it be that they are quoting a Supra NA or some other Toyota?
Does anyone know if the Supra NA has the same big brakes as a TT? This could make a difference.
I suspect the dealer is not quoting you the correct spare. The tire size for the TT spacesaver wheel is a 145/70-17. Why would they offer to sell a wheel only, since it would be useless without having the proper size tire to go with it?

Banana, the price you got is in line with what Steve quoted me for just the spacesaver spare without tire (with just me buying it, not a group buy).
When I saw the $1,100 quote posted I PM'd Steve (haven't heard back yet) because I think that price is a bit outlandish. I certainly won't be doing the GB if the wheel plus tire is anywhere close to that.
I believe the TT has bigger brakes than the NA (not 100%).
I'll update this thread as soon as I hear back from Steve - he's going to be pretty busy cleaning up the aftermath from the meet.

yes, I asked the dealer specificly for 1996 supra turbo, not the NA version
$117 is what the told me and no tire. Order it directly from the manufacture.
and yes, the NA and tubro have 2 different brake and the size are different.
I talked to discount tire, they can get me a steal wheel size 16-17 with similar offset as the supra turbo for cheap. I haven't decide what to do yet.

Anh,
that steel wheel option with discount tire sounds like a good alternative, especially if the wheel offset is correct and the tire width is not for a "skinny" tire. The Supra spare is only rated for 50mph and the GS is also a lot heavier vehicle.
If I got a flat on Hwy 5, I'd worry about getting rear ended going 50mph. Cars averaged 80mph for the 350 miles I drove from the Carson Meet to my home.
