Default Any SoCal 2IS with navi experience map glitching/faulty position calibration lately?

Lately, my navi seems to be a little off. Was just wondering if its just my car, or if any others seem to have this problem as well??

nav hacked since 2007, no problems here.

have you tried calibrating your nav per the owner's manual?

you can do that?? to be honest, that was the least of my concerns, my main concern was the map glitching as i was in motion

i mean when you are in motion and you look at your navi. mine used to be smooth, but now it seems to be a bit laggy/glitchy. maybe i need to recalibrate it??

"menu" button
"setup" icon
scroll down to the third page
"adjust" button next to "calibration"

see pages 92-93 of your Navigation System Owner's Manual for more details.

if it's still glitchy, try updating your nav software to a newer version.

strange though, because i haven't had to calibrate my nav since it was nav-hacked.

iirc the nav software is at version 9.1.

your nav unit should not require calibration after the nav hack, but that's something to consider.

i tried calibrating it. it makes no difference. when i was reading the manual it says the GPS should relocate automatically, the only reason i would have to recalibrate is if i'm in an area with poor GPS reception. i'm going to try to reset my battery and see if it makes any difference. by any chance, is the GPS position sensor built into the head unit? or does the sharkfin antenna play any role? i want to avoid going to the dealer and risk voiding my warranty as much as possible. on the same note, does anyone know of a mod-friendly advisor??

i am also in fullerton and oc area, never had problem on my nav. shark fin is for xm only, nothing to do with nav. pay attention to the GPS wording that's right below the compass and scale on the top left corner. pay attention when you are driving. do you see the GPS wording all the time?

You might need to check your wiring for the "nav hack". Mine has been hacked since 2006, zero issues.

i see the gps all the time i believe. i'm not concerned about the wiring, i'm pretty sure it's wired correctly, being that tommy@musicbox wired it for me. i never had issues with it up until a couple weeks ago.

going to disconnect and reconnect the battery. according to the manual, the gps is suppose to be a little off, and self calibrates after about a minute after being reconnected. hoping this with resolve the issue

if you see gps all the time, that means the satellite is tracking you just fine

You should be concerned if maybe one of the wires are loose. Might be giving you a bad connection. Now I can't remember, IIRC even if you have GPS showing all the time, if the wires are loose you will get a jumpy nav due to the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) wire being cut. But it's been so long, I just can't remember. So I can be completely wrong.
