I had Song's Tint Masters do mine finally. It was $140, $150 with the credit card charge. I got 35% all around- they did a good job and it took a couple of hours. I'd recommend them.

I'm gettin my car tinted as well. I live in West Los Angeles near Westwood area. I called up Andy, and he offered to come to my house all the way from Carson to tint my GS 20% black tint including the visor tint for 200 at your door. He says hes using 3M film. Does Andy have any kind of warranty? Moreover, how good of a grade tint does 3M make? Should I go somewhere else?

450 is a lot. Normally it's around the 200 range at best for a Sedan. This is coming from experience in the "import modding" scene... and some of my customers are actual tinting locations across the US. 450 is ridiculous.

yes another tint thread
i know there are a gagillion tint threads out there but most of em just says what tint shop is good, but doesn't really mention what kinda film they got there or what film is good. i was thinking of going to california tint in rosemead due to all the positive feedback i've gathered in the other tint threads. i called em up but it seems like the only non-metallic tint they have is johnson tint which i've never heard of. i had thought of getting ceramic tint but seems like those are too expensive. anyways... my question is.. from your experience, what tint shop is good AND what kind/brand of film did you get. i'm looking for something that isn't metallic... 3m?, llumar?, etc. thanks in advance!

The better quality films will be metallic or ceramic...with dye based, you'll be at the lower end. Those you may expect to change it in about 2 years or so when it fades-turns purple or bubbles. Those also don't have as good a performance rating so you'll still bake your interior over time. Best suggestions is to save for the higher line metallic or ceramic films, these have a lifetime warranty where dye is 1-3 years.

I took my car to The Tint Pros in Huntington Beach. They're an authorized installer of Formula One films. I chose the Pinnacle 35% ceramic tint, and it looks great on my IS350. If I'm not mistaken, Formula One and Huper Optik are among the best (and most expensive) tint films on the market.

Great heat reflectivity and no Nav/stereo interferance..... It also has the cool "mirror" affect so there are always hot chick looking at the car to fix their hair, dress, skirt, etc. It's the best when i'm inside and they don't know! haha!!
That sounded very perv-y.... oh well...
