Default Smog test + Alignment recommendations?

Yea ill be needing to smog my car by the end of this month =[

The paper reads, "SMOG Certification Reuired at a Test Only or Gold Shield station"

Mods on my SC400... Single straight pipe (no resonator or mufflers)... Cat still intact. and a cut airbox.. however its not really that easily noticeable unless you actually LOOK LOOK at it since my HID wires are in the way =p

also i need a good Alignment shop.. im tired of my car pulling to the right -_- and my steering wheel pointing at 11ish going straight.. and tired of worn front tires..

any help would be great! Thanks

If the car doesn't pass, you usually get a 2nd test for free. After than you need to pay again.

Like they said, with cats it should pass as long as you warm it up really good.

And where in CA are you?

From there, it doesn't seem that there are any negatives from being tagged a gross polluter. And, to be a gross polluter, you have to get at least double one of the tests. In other words, you would defiantly notice it before you go to get smogged.

I failed my smog. Not because of tailpipe emissions, but because the darn CEL is burned out

A mistake a lot of owners do from smogging their cars are warm it up well but once they're at the smog station they idle their car. The cats then cool down.So while waiting peg your revs

alright so i tried to get my car aligned today.. Went go this place right off the 91 freeway (Corona) called ACTION AUTO SPORT (MOTORSPORT) next to OTM fight shop n yea... went there for an 4 wheel alignment.. got a quote.. I asked the guy if my car will make it up the rack. He walked out to visually see if my car was high enough and said "yea, ill make sure we put planks to get it up there." so yea sounds good n all.. signed the paper n off i went to Ihop with my friend for some B-fast. Got back from I hop and my car was still parked outside. 20 Mins later I saw a fat dude walking out n im thinking "great... hes gunna drive my car.. well he does... wait maybe 15 mins someone goes out n says, "we cant align your car.. your car is to low" then he showed me..

I looked at it.. they had a small piece of wood to help my car on.. The damn piece of wood aint even a 2x4.. maybe a 4x1 -_-.... ok i check around.. he said that my bumper made contact.. so it made me thinking how much contact.. i checked on my bumper (Vertex Style) and notice a nice gash.. maybe 3 inchs longm an i touch it. It felt soft and fluffy, which means its recent. I walk over to one of racks and shine my flashlight (its a Fenix P3D if u wanna know =p ) and notice some of my paint and fiberglass. Of course i confront them about it and they start blaming that the car was to low and saying he wont even align anyways because something is worn out..

blah blah blah

the owner of the shop decides to give me $50 worth of credit.. so i ended up just taking 5 quarts and left cuz i didnt wanna talk to them anymore..

the only thing that bugged me is that they DIDNT even mention the damage until i confront them. but yea.. waste of my time..

To condlude. I got home with another gash on the bumper (Bumper is perdy messed already) n 5 quarts of royal purple 5w 30... didnt pay for alignment since they didnt even do it -_-

sigh..

well they didnt even do an alignment cuz they said the car was to low..

Sucks to hear about them damaging your car. I normally stand around and watch them work on the car to make sure everything is okay ever since I had a tire shop try to drive one of my cars on to a lift after I told them it couldn't make it up. Not fun seeing hearing the front cross member hit the lift and then seeing everything get ripped out when they back the car off.

Anderson frame and Alignment in Garden Grove has a level alignment rack, so lowered cars are not an issue. It is right off the knott exit on the 22. Only thing is that they do hand alignments with tape measures, so no lasers to measure. Never had my SC done there, but I've had a few other cars done there and all of the alignments were $100+ with advance appointments.

Another shop I know of is Accurate Alignment in Orange near Mobworks. I can't remember what type of setup his machines are, but he has done a few slammed Hondas for me. I think he quoted my SC for around $95 with stock suspension.
