First, welcome to Club Lexus.

I'm sorry you had a bad experience but why in the world would you simply bend over and write out a check for $60k when you weren't comfortable with the transaction in the first place?

It's too late to do anything about it now but it's not entirely the dealer's fault.

That car was most likely used as a demo (test drive) with 1,200 miles on it and scratches all over the place. Technically it is a new car as it has never been registered.

Please look through your paperwork and find a form which discloses where those miles came from. It should have a list of things on it such as "rental" "demo" "loaner" etc etc etc.......if you can find it then you might have better ammunition when you talk to Lexus corporate and the dealership. The longer you wait, the less chance you have.

Keep us posted.

That dealer is very shady. I hope you are able to get everything resolved.

What's ironic about that is, during the test drive, the sales guy spent a good 15 min talking about how he moved from another state to work for this branch because the guys from Texas were so awesome... lol what a load of crap...

Default Fyi

"the odometer reading itself qualifies it as a USED CAR. And by law they cannot sell it as new...or can they ? I dunno"

Just a FYI! a car is only considered used when it is registered a car with 12000 miles on it that has never been registered is still considere new a car with 1 mile on it and it is registred is considered used....

You could have gotten approx the same deal on a Brand New IS-F with 10-20 miles on it..

Below is the ONLY way to buy & drive a new car home...

Here is mine from 9/13/07

Sorry to hear that. Salesman conviniently forgot to disclose that it was a demo car?

Just like you said, just because you are buying a Lexus doesn't mean dealers will live up to Lexus standard. Treat Lexus dealers as you would treat used car dealers with suspicion. Always check and recheck before you pay.

What ever happened to customer service, customer satisfaction? So sad:sad

I bought a COP from Lexus of Westminster. Lexus website advertises that CPO cars go through rigorous checks, and they check the alignment. However, car pulled to the right. Took it back. Alignment was out, and they aligned it. It still pulls. I have to take it back, again.

Lexus USA... they don't have much influence over dealers. One Lexus USA service rep said it is because they are independently owned and operated. Basically, dealers bring in the money. Lexus USA has no quality control over dealers.

Thank goodness LEXUS cars are That's why we buy Lexus, again.
