So ticked...was driving down the FWY when a huge 4x with those hunking off road wtires comes into the lane about 60 yards ahead...next thing...BLATT and I have a modest chip and crack about 4" long and growing.
Now that I need a new windshield...any recco's where or who?
There go the tail lights.

Dealer:
Green factory tinted one is $666 and a gray tinted one is $722. Install fee is $125 and if any mouldings need to be replaced, $54.
Safelite quote:
$177 normal green, $289 Toyota gray and $19 for any mouldings.
A wee bit of difference...hmmm wonder which one to choose.
Thanks for the recco Flip!

I'm booked for the 1-5 time slot but about 1 minute after 1 there is a knock at the door. I liek that...right on time. I move the car around and they are setting up. One of the guys states to me that "this is the windshield we will be installing." I come over to take a look and ugh...the green is vibrant and obvious. I look at him, he looks back at me...and we are both shaking our heads. After a call, I arranged another appointment for the gray tinted factory glass. Price jump is now $329 installed which includes mouldings.
Calvin...I've never seen a factory glass that green. Most shade more toward the bluish side which would have been fine but this is green-green.
Update:
My interpretation of "factory" was branded "Toyota". I have no complaints as the glass they installed was PPG. This install took about an hour. The previous glass was a low end replacement and this PPG one has excellent clarity...it is as if there is no glass at all.
I did have to go back and clean some finger prints from the dash and pillars but overall, a good install from Safelite.
