Default lowering GS3

Hi fellow members,

I live in Madison, WI. Looking for a car shop in the midwest area (Wisconsin: Madison, Milwaukee, Sheboygan OR Illinois: Chicago & vicinity) that does an excellent job for lowering our beloved Lexus, especially a GS at a reasonable price.
I've already purchased a set of springs from GS4Will (thanks will), so yes, I will carry my own springs.
Any input / suggestions ? Also please include address, phone #, website (if exist) and ballpark /estimate of the cost.

Sorry to post this here; have tried posting this at the regional forum and no reply.

Thanks all.

Default Schaumburg on I-90 ? near Ikea / Mitsuwa / Woodsfield ?

If you can do it, I can drive there... Schaumburg is not far away, in fact I bought the car there @ Woodsfield Lexus (heard the place's rather pricey, huh ?)...

Anyways, how much are you going to charge me ? I mean, I'm NOT expecting you to do it for free, but a reasonable price + considering you have a Lexus, then you know how we feel about our cars, so I believe you'd take better care during the swap / installation...

And can you do alignment also ?

You can also PM me if you don't like replying here in the forum...

done it... can do it...

not a problem...

can't do the alignment...
i think it's better to do alignments
on proper equipment...

as far as springs.... would you rather pay $200+ at some
dealership?

i noticed that you have a V300E... is that here in the states?
I'm looking for wiring / manual for that car...

hehehehe any possiblity that you would have a copy?

as for the springs, when do you want them installed?

i strongly suggest that you get some aftermarket shocks with the springs...

the travel on the stock shocks weren't designed to be used with lowered
springs... double the work when the stock shock blows out...
you'll be driving like you have hydrolics....

how's $50 plus lunch?

It's the sportdesign, so I believe it already has the L-tuned? sport shocks... heard that w/ these, I don't need to swap the shocks.

Too bad, the V300 is back home (Indonesia). Copy of the manual ? Well, I personally won't mind getting that for you, but I don't feel like asking my dad (the actual owner) to do that for me... so if you're willing to wait until January (sorry...), then if there's a manual in the car, I'll xerox it for you... hopefully it won't be in japanese ! Another fellow member that you can try contacting for the V300 manual is Joko Tanoyo (screen name jtanoyo1 )... he's in Indonesia, and he also got V300.

Do you have the tools ? Are you willing to work on Saturdays? 'coz that'll make it easier for me esp. w/ my schoolworks, and probably your job too. How does October 11 sound ? (the Saturday 2 weeks from now)

I'll bring some helps too... ...and thanks for the offer.

AND... can you suggest any good shop around that'll do the alignment ? :P

oh ok...
that should be okay then...

oh, back in indonesia.... dang... but... i'll wait!
no rush, just trying to map out electrical rework, etc to do a V300E swap.

yep, got every tool you can imagine...

Sat, October 11th shouldn't be a problem...

earlier the better.

if you've got anything else to put in while the car is in the air...
feel free to do that.

i had my car aligned by NTB... they put it up on their alignment rack...
pretty cool equipment.... cost me $80 i think... but... that pretty much
went out the door when i dropped my car 2"...

We can align it - have done numerous Lex-I. $99 & guaranteed satisfaction, but will need to schedule it and have it by 11:00 on a Saturday. I used to use NTB as a partner until they mis-aligned 2 GS's in 1 week....maybe it was just the local Streamwood branch that had problems

Can also do the lowering if you guys run into trouble.

If you're heading down from MKE, you gonna stay for our show on Sunday the 12th? Should be alot of club members there. Check out our post: Dude's Performance Fest II - Updated.

Later - Scott

I am not sure if I am invited, but I can be there to supervise. Just ask Alex for references on the brake pad job.

I don't know Scott. I'm little worried about someone watching me.

Scott (dudesperformance)... don't think I will be able to make it at 11, or to the meet... but I will try... I will take to my bro the possibility of staying over in chicago...

BTW, I'm George from Madison, WI... my bro's Mike (screenname "blackened") and he's from Milwaukee...
