My Family's Gas Station got robbed -PLEASE READ
Hello,
My father's gas station was robbed around 10:30 pm yesterday, I thought the robber was gonna shoot both me and my dad because he held us at gun point.
Suspect is a Black male in mid 20s with deep voice. He most likely knows the station, a regular, because he came to the side door of the register right when he entered and we never lock it because we never had any situations like this. Usually robbers stand at the front of the register for a quick getaway.
It was the scariest moment of my life since he actually came inside the register area, I thought he was gonna shoot either me or my dad or both of us.
The police came and the k-9 units sniffed the bushes that he passed through and by following the scent it led them to an area by apartments that are nearby the store.
The thing is after he held us at gun point, he ran to the next door shut down motorwerks dealer. He must have planned this because he came in the perfect time when no customers were there and we do not know if he got into a car after he went through the bushes to the motorwerks. I wish the motorwerks/dealership was not shut down because they would have light that whole area.
We also have bulletproof glass but we never use it because all our customers are our regular customers that come since we had the station in 2006 so we know 99% of the customers who come by name.
If anyone is in the wheaton / glen ellyn area please report anything suspicious to the police.

Unfortunately our systems were down for the past two days.
The suspect was wearing all black, black male, with a ski mask, and had a black drawstring bag with some text but neither I nor my dad could see the text.

I'm glad you both are safe, minus being shook up. I hope they catch the scumbag. Being robbed leaves one feeling sick and violated so I empathize how you and your family are feeling. All you can do now it prep and be consistent. Get those cams working and take precautions.
