odd story about cops
last night, i was with my brother leaving a bar near lincoln (on halsted) and the cops pulled my brother over for doing a u turn, but gave him three citations for:
1. doing a u turn (obviously)
2. having offroad lights (eventhough they were not on)
3. having offroad tires (all though they definetly aren't mudders or anything like that).
i was kinda suprised that they layed it to him like that, cause i am in the gold coast/lincoln park area (not the burbs, where they hunt for these kinds of violations). he has to go to court, which is no big deal but gets me to thinking if i might get **** in the near future (i have limo tint all around).
any of you fellas from the city ever get citations for stuff along these lines?

Sounds like CPD had nothing better to do that night. Those tickets are compliance violations, non - moving citations. The U-Turn is a moving citation but they are legal unles otherwise posted or it is done on a grade or in an unsafe manner. Going to court in Chicago is like trying to get your license renewed at the SOS office, it sucks. Also, window tint law was passed for officer safety. Most cops will enforce it believe it or not !!!
