Default SRT Products

Hey guys,

As of a few days ago Swift Racing Tech released an intake & piggyback ECU and also a SS dual exhaust for the ISF. I've heard of SRT but have never used them in the past.

I know some of you guys have used previously used SRT products. Can anyone chime in and fill me in on the quality of there products, personnel etc... And/or if they have had issues.

I am looking to mod eventually but I'm just curious what you guys have experienced.

Keep in mind, Borla should have an exhaust out any day now too.

^^ Stick with the Borla if you ask me. I havent heard anything about this company and an exhaust is pretty much an exhaust IMO. Intakes are a waste on the IS period. Dont waste your $$

I think if you get on You Tube, its not the same car, but you will get the idea. Pull up RS4 with borla exhaust and listen! It sounds perfect if you ask me and its going to sound similar on your car.

good luck!

Mike

My brother had the SRT intake for his 01 IS300. As far as I remember he loved that intake, sounded great and he said it did add power. Not significant but he said he noticed it. Not to mention it looked badass.

The intake they have out shows about a 20rwhp increase over the stock air box. It has a piggyback ECU which recalibrates the A/F ratio as well. Probably the best gains ever from an intake. That's kind of why i'm skeptical. But I guess the dyno chart doesn't lie. I may try to get a custom exhaust but I'm not sure yet. I'm kind of hoping some headers hit the market as well.

^^ be careful with the intake and what it "says" it will deliver. the other thing that has been proven with the Lexus line up is the open air filters have caused issues on the cars. Its up to you but its more noise then anything on these cars.

as for the exhaust you can have a custom one done for probably 600$ and save your self a lot of money. Its not a hard exhaust system to do and its around 1500$ for the aftermarket.

I wouldn't do much more then that for performance. but thats just my opinion from playing with the IS. It wasn't made for performance and the aftermarket is pretty much non existent for the IS.

I do think that Borla sounds sick on the RS4 so I can only imagine how it will sound on your IS.

PM Mr. Johnson....he actually went out to their facility to get his sc installed and tuned. I have an SRT intake and I love it....the guys were a little hard to get a hold of when I had a question...I had better luck getting my question answered on CL...maybe they have improved on that aspect

keep in mind if you get the srt and piggyback ecu it is only tuned for the intake. Other mods such as exhaust and headers etc will not work with the ecu calibrations they provide. I decided to go injen intake +afc neo route. But thats just me

The old ecu didn't compentsate for additional mods, the current race ecu that comes with the kits is calibrated to work with headers and catback.

I'll be waiting until spring to start modding. Doesn't make much sense to me to drop that much cash and by the time I get it and installed it will be winter. So next spring I'll be putting in the F-Sport rear sway bar, exhaust (not sure which one yet, SRT or Borla) and hopefully an intake (not sure which one either). I'm hoping some other products come out to get a better perspective on the market. But for now, it's really fast stock so I'm happy.

But I will definitely be repping Chi-town.

BTW I embarassed some kid in a G35 last night. It was bad

Hit me up with some pics if this will work on the 3gen GS430. Where is SRT located and does anyone have a website for them???? I want to see this S/C set up they have and what kinds of goodies they have for the GS. If anyone wants to make a trip one weekend soon I will join to go check it out.

Thanks,

Mike
