EV Price Wars Thread
Of course. If you ask today for an online quote, you'll get the same offers. I just shared one example. They gave me similar quotes on all their stock, not just a single stock number. A local Ford dealer did the same thing to me back in 2021. I did, however, find another Ford dealer that offered to sell me any vehicle at invoice. I was skeptical, but went in and it was legit. They even did a dealer trade to find me one that matched what I wanted. It saved me about $6k off of MSRP. That was right before the part shortages, which seems to have changed everything going forward.

Yep, the tables are turning, and now that they are, customers are going to remember which dealers screwed them over the past 2 to 3 years and which ones could have screwed them but didn't (or were at least somewhat gentle about it if they did) and award their business accordingly. Some dealers will not recover from their COVID behaviors, but some will have earned customers for a long time.
Some people know that I was dead set on buying an Lightning XLT recently, but 1) can't find one in stock or 2) gave me the run around on actual pricing. I gave up after a while and just got another Tesla....tired of dealers ..

Volkswagen Outsells Tesla In Germany's EV Market Through July
ID. Buzz and ID. Buzz Cargo sales have picked up steam after the production ramp and likely tipped the scales in VW's favor
Volkswagen has reclaimed the EV sales crown in Germany in the first seven months of the year, overtaking Tesla and the trio of premium domestic brands – Mercedes-Benz, Audi, and BMW.
VW edged past Tesla in electric car registrations from January through July, thanks to added volume from its newly launched models, especially the ID. Buzz passenger van and its commercial variant, the ID. Buzz Cargo.
According to data from Germany's Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) shared by Automobilwoche (via Electrek), Volkswagen sold 41,475 electric vehicles in Germany through July, while Tesla sold 40,289 units. The real price war starts when Toyota/Lexus rolls out their line in a year that uses solid state batteries.
1) They will not catch fire or blow up your garage
2) They charge in 10 minutes
3) They have a range of 700-800 miles
4) They are relatively inexpensive
It will make all current EVs obsolete. The current manufacturers will be dumping inventory as Toyota/Lexus ramps up production.
