no semi's / tractor-trailers, that's right. i'm not sure why they did that honestly. if it's for traffic flow, then they could do what a giant circle k gas station near me has done... 2 sides... back side is semi's, front side is everything else. works out great.
These places seem to cater to private motorists who want in and out.
Big rigs means lots of extra parking and they tend to camp out for extended periods of time on the sides of the roads adding to the appearance of congestion.
They have truck stops for a good reason. Lol
) But wow it's so filthy inside, the whole store from the restrooms out. When I went in, they had a guy cleaning but **** it smelled so bad like it hadn't been cleaned for days. The whole store was also very disorganized. One interesting thing was the lady that took the order and made the sandwiches was supper on top of infection control.
It's sad but I think you may be right. I stopped at TA for the first time in my life. For some reasons I thought it'd be OK. And we also wanted Popeye's. (

Quote from operations manager when the Sevierville store opened:
"So, the way we are set up, we are set up for the family traveler," director of operations Josh Smith told Knox News. "So … we don't have the space or the capacity to hold 18-wheelers in the lot. We respect them. We thank them for what they do. Unfortunately, we're just not designed to have 18-wheeler traffic in the parking lot."

With so much investment and big staff to cater to the customers and facility it makes sense they need to keep the traffic aka $$$ moving in and out as fast as possible.
And, get max revenue per sq/ft of real estate both inside the store and parking lot
Truckers are very hard working people so I don't believe it's anything against truckers, it's their big trucks that are the problem. IMO
I think they have one standing there at the entrance and constantly going in to check and clean at the spot. But to think of it, the root cause for all these smelly restrooms is our culture and behavior. If anyone has been to Japan, s/he would agree with this. Public restrooms are super clean and there is no attendants. Just the people clean after themselves. Heck, there is not even a trash can around. Here? Even at nice fitness places, we see towels laying on benches and floors.

I plan stopping for gas at Buc-ee's when on a trip. Premium is generally $.25 per gallon cheaper than others in that area. Just checked GasBuddy in Crossville and premium is $3.29 per gallon. The range around me now is $3.79-4.34.
