I love the Model S, I would love to buy one, but I can't justify spending over a $100K on a car. Plus my wife would eat my brains out until there is nothing left (she's already eaten half)
You only live once lol. I used to say the same thing about $100,000 for a car. $100,000 aint what it used to be.
I know, I know. But the Model 3 Performance will get the job done just as well. Plus you haven't met my wife. God bless her, the best wife anyone could ever ask for, but she's a spending hawk, if you know what mean! I could overrule her, but it would be months of getting an ear full
Yeah LOL I wish it was that easy for me. 25 years of marriage through compromise. But since the Model 3 Performance works, I'll save my strength to fight another day....
This is the sticker of my 2001 LS430, my first and only real flagship car.
$61,230 in 2001 is equivalent in purchasing power to about $101,429.42 today, an increase of $40,199.42 over 21 years. The dollar had an average inflation rate of 2.43% per year between 2002 and today, producing a cumulative price increase of 65.65%.
We had a killer deals on the msp otherwise I wouldn't of taken it either.

around here, i see the text emblem instead. what's the difference? other model year? optional? congrats on your new whip.
First 25 produced/delivered in 2021 got a different Plaid badge than the one pictured (more of a 3D badge), the remaining 2021 and early 2022 got the Plaid text lettering and then later in 2022, around March, they changed it to the current Plaid badge.

not really. obviously m3p is still very fast, but not as nice an interior, no air suspension, not as big, no gauge screen in front of driver, etc, etc.

ha... and how much does she spend on hair, makeup, botox, nails, cosmetics, wine, etc. compared to you

Yes for sure the Model S is a much better car, and I've driven in a Model S (never drove one itself), but to be honest the Model 3P does the job well. And it checks all my boxes. Also it's not about speed, as my P2 is fast enough.
Believe it or not, my wife is a careful spender. She's not cheap, but she spends carefully. She doesn't care about high fashion, fancy cars (she drives an Ioniq EV/2013 Sienna and is happy with both). When she does choose to spend, it's usually on quality furniture, rugs etc. I feel really blessed to be married to her
Anyway, when the time comes to replace our 2020 Ionic EV, I'll make the final decision at that time
I have one or two big purchases looming... When the Highland comes out, I am likely a buyer! The December $7,500 discount was really tempting, but the Model 3 Performance were gone overnight.
Probably for the best. Truth is, our '18 Mid Range does everything just fine.
Btw - I have a love / hate relationship with the air suspension. It's great I can change ride height dynamically and is so comfy when I want it to be. oTOH, it floats like a boat with it even on sportiest setting
