Still, US auto unit sales for 2022 may be down 20% from their 17 million peak a couple of years ago. And higher financing rates, plus the price increases on cars and dealer markups, will push sales even lower in 2023. But the automakers don't care, inflation gives them the ability to produce fewer cars and charge more for them and there still seem to be plenty of people willing to pay. The auto market will never return to "normal" again.

KIA AMERICA POSTS BEST-EVER NOVEMBER SALES

12/01/22 ID: 19721
  • Sportage posts triple-digit sales increase for second consecutive month
  • Sales of Kia’s electrified models post double or triple-digit sales increase the past five months
IRVINE, Calif., November 30, 2022 – Kia America announced best-ever November sales of 56,703 units, an 8-percent increase over the previous November sales record set in 2016, and a 25.1-percent improvement year-over-year. For the second consecutive month, sales were led by the Sportage family of SUVs, which were up 144-percent over the same period a year ago. Sales of Kia’s electrified models – which have posted double or triple-digit gains in the past five months – also contributed to the record-breaking performance with a 133-percent year-over-year increase.

“Building on our best-ever third-quarter and October sales, Kia’s upward momentum continued with a record November with SUVs and hybrids, plug-in hybrids and EVs pushing the brand ever higher,” said Eric Watson, vice president, sales operations, Kia America. “With Sportage up 144-percent and our electrified offerings posting double or triple-digit sales increases for the fifth consecutive month, we are confident that we will end the year strong, and this positive sales momentum will carry through to 2023.”

Is there a way to post sales numbers without the PR filter of the various auto makers?

^^ Thank you, If I saw this on youtube just browsing around I wouldn't take it serious but since a CL member dropped it I will give it a chance and check it out.

It's screaming clickbait, man with scared look on his face and Yellow Caution sign, etc even tho it may be legit.
Guessing it's very competitive out there to get the message to intended audience when everyone else is using clickbait tactics too so how does one separate themselves these day, I don't know.
I made a youtube once on some technical stuff and got like 70 views so I took it down. lol

It may look like clickbait but the underlying facts presented are accurate. See the other thread running now about how ADMs are going away at Mercedes. Unit auto sales in the US have fallen 20% from the 17 million per year pre-covid number, so the demand decline is real. The manufacturers and dealers didn't care for a while, because they could reduce supply, raise prices on the cars they had, charge ADMs - and the buyers who had to be in the market, paid anything to get cars. That's ending now, and that will accelerate in 2023 as the recession and even higher rates, digs in.

Just watched your video, enjoyed it.
When I saw the young host is when I realized where the video art came from. lol

"Gramps" is saying car buying conditions are getting better so that's good news.
Only thing I wonder is putting so much blame on dealers for being greedy.

Anyone around long enough to know what happened to the dealers in the early 90's saw the dealers going out of business left and right and terrifying times to be in the business..
So I have to wonder if they did it out of fear expecting what coming now is exactly what they were expecting.

I don't know, just ideas.
