Corvette to become a brand ?
Polestar sold more P2's in 2022, and it's an almost unknown brand. And if someone states supply chain, well, Polestar suffers from the same supply chain issue as any automaker
I've driven two, they are nothing like a Huracan and are not too different than an SRT Jeep or AMG large suv when it comes down to driving experience. They sound good and have better feedback but the differences between it and the other SUVs is minor compared to when you contrast the cars.

@bitkahuna is totally correct, no two EV's are the same. Nor do they look alike. My Polestar looks nothing like or drives nothing like a Model 3, Model Y, or any other Tesla. Nor is it anything like an Ioniq 5, Kia EV 6, Audi E-Tron, or the BMW or Mercedes offerings. Each EV has it's unique way of driving, handling, etc, and even the tech is completely different. People really have to take of their blinders
Well, here is another reason GM is doing what they are doing. Ford took the Mustang brand and spun out the Mach-E, and now they are celebrating the 150,000th Mach-E:

From a business perspective spinning Corvette into different vehicles may be a smart move

EVs are not cars in my mind, they are just a pod to get to somewhere. I don't really like driving them since unless you are maxing them out they really don't do anything for me enjoyment wise, teslas are even worse since the interior is plain/boring and I can't even enjoy the fit/material design and elements flowing into each other. Nothing to visually enjoy inside and the screen is a smear fest. Drive a Bentley sometime with the knurled control spec and you will see what I mean, each part on those cars is amazing to look at, feel, and use.
Completely not true. Different EV's have different engagements, different ways of how they deliver power, and even sound different. The only thing in common is they are all silky smooth and efficient, although different EV's even have different efficiency levels. I've driven more EV's than you, am around more EV's than you, and own more EV's than you
There was lots of pearl clutching when Porsche introduced the Cayenne. Now their SUVs are their best sellers. I get the desire to hold onto the sanctity of the "Corvette" name, but if Chevy truly wants to get into the performance crossover market, the Corvette name is the only thing that gives them credibility.

Oh I love SUVs, they are just far more similar brand to brand than cars are. They are designed to mass appeal to the most possible people so it makes sense they are all kind of similar, I actually started my love affair with cars with trucks/SUVs but once I discovered how much more special actual cars are whenever I go back to SUVs they just do not feel that interesting.
