It looks like Mazda will also be rolling out a 2 row CX-70 based on the CX-90. The proportions look pretty good in the pictures.

VERY Competitively priced. Honestly feel like it should be a bit more expensive. The starting price is 10k cheaper than the MDX and fully loaded is 3-4k cheaper than the highest trim MDX Advance (not counting the Type S).

No chance eh? CX-9 Starting Price $38,750 and CX-90 Starting Price $39,595. Sure it tops out way above, but this is pretty great for them to bring this with under $1,000 price increase base to base.

Current 3rd row legroom/headroom measurements for the segment:
CX-9 - 29.7 inches of legroom and 35.4 inches of headroom
Q7 - 29.2 inches, 35.9 inches
MDX - 29.1 inches, 36.2 inches
QX60 - 30.8 inches, 35.7 inches
Aviator - 29.2 inches, 36.9 inches
Telluride - 31.4 inches, 38.1 inches
CX-9 - 29.7 inches of legroom and 35.4 inches of headroom
Q7 - 29.2 inches, 35.9 inches
MDX - 29.1 inches, 36.2 inches
QX60 - 30.8 inches, 35.7 inches
Aviator - 29.2 inches, 36.9 inches
Telluride - 31.4 inches, 38.1 inches
30.4 inches of 3rd row legroom, and 36.9 inches of 3rd row headroom.
Sure, less than the Telluride(and likely the TX), but it is competitive with the other cars in the segment.

Yeah, the pricing is way below expectations, I expected it to be around ~$5K more across the board at the very least. What's even more surprising to me is the size, this is not a midsize but a full size crossover- wheelbase is 122.8 inches which is even longer than an X7 (which makes the relatively small third row in videos so far somewhat of a headscratcher).
This is basically as much of a bargain as the Hyundai Genesis was when it came out in 2008, I'm pleasantly surprised but also not sure how Mazda could even make money from this. Hyundai could sell the old Genesis sedan at a loss because they have always been a huge company, Mazda is a fraction of their size and can't take such a hit.

Pole Position
It's just crazy how much the 2 inch legroom difference between the MDX and Telluride looks in real life.

Looks surprisingly good all around, I don't see what the big deal is with 3rd rows anyway....most people don't even use the 2nd row. A half effort 3rd seems like a waste, if you need the space get a real SUV
Stuff like this is the modern sedan.

This is a family vehicle, the third row is the reason why someone buys this. This isn't a modern sedan, the upcoming 2 row CX70 will fill that role. If I didn't need 3 rows, I wouldn't buy a vehicle with 3 rows. This is the modern minivan, not the modern sedan.

I'd agree if this was the CX-70, but people do absolutely use the 1st and 2nd rows in SUVs in the CX-90's segment. These are family haulers. The 3rd row is more for occasional extra children/in-laws sure.
