The W223s come with Hankooks yeah. The W222 and older were Michelins, Continentals or Pirellis.
The Pacifica has Falken Ziex CT50s, pretty crappy...they don't even sell them on TireRack. They have 7/32nds of tread left but happy to get rid of them.
Damn. That's shocking to hear, I also got rid of tires that on paper were excellent but I couldn't stand in the form of the nearly new MXM4s my 460 came with. Some rubber just doesn't click with those who are particular/know what they want, speaking of how are your new ones treating you?
Hankook has been trying very hard to break into the luxury industry with their "quiet ride" technology. BMW has been using them occasionally on the 5-series.

To their credit, one of the W223 owners on MBWorld replaced the OEM Hankooks with Bridgestone QuietTrack non runflat, and he actually put the Hankooks back on...

The gen S class you have also came with Goodyear F1. I think only in maybach trim.

That was my earlier point, Steve. There's lots worse rubber out there than Hankooks.....although I agree that most Hankooks are not in the same class as most Michelins or Continentals.
I still have yet to have any of my cars factory tires that were good tires even if they were a decent brand like Michelin. Most didn’t have good grip, were loud as they wore, or just wore out really fast. They are also typically more expensive than better tires that are non-OEM tires. I’ve always replaced them with better rated tires which were always cheaper and I noticed a difference right away and they lasted longer.

True, in 20" applications.

100% agree. There is definitely a difference between OEM tires and tires made for the replacement market, name brand or not.
So update, got the new tires put on and they seem great. Not as big a noise reduciton as I expected, the Pacifica is just not that well isolated from road noise. But it rides and drives much better.
A little drama, my trusted very expensive speciality shop that mounts and balances tires for me from TireRack mounted the tires backwards! Outside in and inside out. So I had to run around Saturday morning before we left for the Pocanos and get them dismounted and remounted (the shop was closed). Frustrating, but got it done.
Van survived a week in the Pocanos, but I was very happy to get into my S560 yesterday lol. Biggest issue is how lethargic it feels off of a rolling stop because of the gearing. My brother in law has a 2018 Odyssey and I drove that once while we were there too, and while the Pacifica is much nicer inside and out, the Odyssey has a better powertrain despite having the same transmission...it rides and drives better IMO
