Default I think I'm a fanboy.

I think I have a problem, I'm adding yet another Lexus to my fleet. I swore after we got rid of the RX we wouldn't get another one, mostly since my wife started driving in one, got another one out of college and is generally tired of them.....

Oh well. Im getting yet another first gen RX, this one however is a great example. Im buying it from the original owner and it's under 140k miles. 2002 white over silver with the parchment interior and 100% of all items it's supposed to have. It's going to replace my Jeep, I'll miss the old thing but 300k miles and a hard life have taken their toll on her. This will be a much welcome upgrade for livability and comfort for wintertime and SUV tasks.

Now there is a catch to this....the car supposedly has a blown timing belt/jumped time. It's also two hours away from me. The clear solution is to do the belt on site, I'll update as I go lol!

I'm hoping I'm lucky and it's just VVTi control solenoid issues based on what the owner described on the phone. In any case I can't lose for $1000

There may be a 12 step program available for people addicted to Lexus, I don't know.
haha Just Kidding!!!

Wonder how many other members are ALL lexus in the driveway.
I only have one Lexus but it's my only car so there's my excuse. lol

I do wonder how many people have full "L" fleets....I will always have at least one mopar in addition to the Lexus cars so I won't ever have a "pure" garage but I'm getting damn close.

Bought my son a one-owner 2001 RX300 recently with about the same mileage and it’s incredible how well it has held up over the last 21 years. The engine is amazingly quiet and smooth, the ride is remarkably quiet and smooth, the factory navigation works fine and the audio is great. I’d say that car was built to a better standard than our current generation RX350.

True but I would rather have this as an suv vs something like a ford/Chevy/Jeep lol! I'll keep the variety for the high end cars, they get more distinct as you climb up the ranks anyway. An LC is far more outstanding in its tier than an RX ever could be

Get a trailer. Haul it home with the Sequioa.

Mine is busy, didn't feel like renting plus I'm 1/3 done










Belt died from pulley seizing, hopefully it's not the WP since I will avoid doing that out here if I can since it's raining

Sure enough. It wasn't the belt but rather the water pump that failed, loose and grinding and it took out the belt.

Easy fix so far, should be started again soon once I finish replacing the pump and putting the new hardware on
