I would absolutely not pay over MSRP. Look around, there will be a dealer willing to place your order at MSRP.

Basic to this thread is that advertised interest rates for Finance, money factors for Leases and
residual values are all set at the time of delivery. Never have been able to time the market, you
get what is offered once the car is on ground. You can "lock" a Mortgage Interest Rate for a period
until you close on the house but not with auto financing.
We have ordered cars twice at the once normal interval of 4 months so that when the lease matured
there was a car to take. Seamless, turn in one and drive out the other. Times have certainly changed!

This is not true for every manufacturer

exactly, just told my wife the same, I'll begin calling a bunch of dealers.

thanks! It's a shame, I'm a huge GS guy but with the car gone, the only car left that interest me is the LS in the lineup.

If you love the GS you will love the 5LS. What’s really gone is the LS, the 5LS is really a big GS.
