That's gorgeous. Imagine that in black. I saw one a month or two ago, all black...I about wrecked staring at it.
I just can't get on board with it. An LS has always been no flash, conservative and a car that doesn't draw attention.

I love this front. Clean and elegant. I like seeing paint on the front all around the grille. When it takes up the entire front, it's much more fitting for a sporty car like an IS or even an ES with that f-sport trim.

I love all LSs styling except 01-03 and 95-97, those were a little frumpy. These days conservative styling is out. I personally love the LS500s looks. But yes because of the shape this 205 inch car doesn't feel nearly as spacious inside as my 196 inch LS430.

LS will stay on in my view. It will be some sort of high output hybrid or plug in hybrid sedan or maybe a full ev in few years. The name plate will stay.

there was an article on Lexus enthusiast regarding this. I will try to post a link

I really hope you are right.

Its a great car, its just a fundamentally different kind of car than what came before. And it is beautiful, I was behind a refresh LS500 in that new Manganese Luster color yesterday, it is gorgeous. Better looking car than my car, IMO. But, its nothing like my car to drive.

Anybody who buys a car that expensive wants it to draw SOME attention. Trust me. If I told you I didn't want my car to make a statement about who I am as a person and what I have achieved...I would be lying to you. I drove every generation of LS basically from new, and the older LS models got attention and drew comments and compliments too. We are just in a time where subtlety is lost.

That car was considered a somewhat flashy car in its day, believe it or not.

Still don’t get why they didn’t retain the “SC” name for the LC.
Also never offered even Fsport trim while the LS does offer one! Lexus is run by clowns and something is definitely lost in translation over there in Japan.
I think you are right.
I have not been impressed since President Akio's takeover.

You mean the site that constantly references Best Car Web's wet dreams, such as the BMW-powered IS?

While the current LS is not the LS it once was (it's actually noisier), but it has presence. While some might mistake a ES for an LS, no one is going to mistake an LS for an ES once you see it up close. The best way to enjoy it is to take it to exquisite locations, against nature and culture:

I've never mistaken the LS for an ES and vice versa. To me, they look very different, especially around the greenhouse, shoulder, and rear.

It grew on me, its growing on you, and perhaps its growing on many others. I would totally love me a top trim LS500, I really don't care if it doesn't drive as well as MB/BMW. Hopefully they do another refresh to address infotainment integration issues.

Agree. You mentioned seeing one in traffic, I hope you see a black one sometime. Absolutely jaw dropping. I seriously had to check myself after about wrecking staring at it.

And yep, drives nothing like or nearly as well as your S-Class, dealbreaker. Someone said "who cares"? A main reason a consumer buys a car is because of the way it drives, especially flagship luxury car buyers. To be fair though, I believe LS does start at around 80 grand which is significantly cheaper than the S-Class. Problem is, even being cheaper, it doesn't do anything as well and/or better anymore which was what made it such a standout in the past.

I've always loved the look of it, the driving experience though hasn't grown on me.
