They sold more Ioniq5 last month (EV6 outsold it too) than Sonatas. Kia sold double the amount of K5's which it should IMO as it's leaps and bounds better looking than the Sonata. Won't miss this car if the rumors are true.
They sold more K5's these past couple months because they recently shifted production of all Hyundai sedans back to South Korea. That's why you also see Elantra sales taking a bit of a dip. Prior to that the Sonata actually outsold the K5 like I mentioned before.

sales will not increase after the move. They moved it as sales are declining. Not because it is a BAD car…it is because sedans are no longer as desirable compared to a car based cross over. The only family sedans that will still be made in the future will be from Toyota and Honda. A few sedans from VW and Hyundai will make the cut but highly unlikely to be made in the USA . Toyota is already crossing their sedans over and you have seen it now with the Corolla Cross

You misunderstand, I said the move to South Korea is why sales declined these past couple of months compared to the K5, which is still built in the U.S. Nobody is expecting Sonata sales to increase with the move, but it isn't a sign of any cancellation, unless people also want to believe that the Elantra is also getting cancelled.
