I own one that now is at 133k and runs really well. Its really a lot of fun and ruins many other performance cars for me. With that said, its so raw it makes me appreciate my other more comfortable cars when I switch to them.

It probably wouldn't spin to 9,000, but maybe somewhere in the 7,800-8,200 range (vs. 7,000 in the Civic). Would still be hella fun to drive.

I don't think it would be either electric or automatic. I believe that for MY2021, Honda was the only major manufacturer who had multiple models for which no automatic was even offered--and will be again for MY2023 when the FL Type R launches.
I just don't think introducing a brand-new RWD platform with an ICE is feasible in the current market, especially from Honda, who have gotten infamously conservative with their offerings lately.

it's a rare moment where the comments made by clarkson have actually aged really well lol... i'm pretty sure james and richard eventually even came around as well
They eventually grew a bit tired of the S2000, as their "car satisfaction" surveys would always return it as the winner.

One purpose, from my understanding, is that if you stall the car out (like if you spin it out on the track), you can just clutch in and press the button to start it again without having to touch the keys. I've never thought to try it, however.
