Default Supra or Skyline

Just wondering if any one in this forum had any information on the new Supra or Skyline? I am also interested in these cars and I heard there coming out in a year or two. If any one has any kind of information I would appreciate, Thanks!

If you guys had a choice, what would it be Supra or Skyline?

probably a supra...i like RWD better, and toyota quality kicks the pants off Nissan.

here was the information on the supra. I think the skyline gtr looks similar to the G35 coupe? I seem to remember seeing a picture somewhere.

I think I would also go for the Supra, but you never know what the finished cars will look like.

If its the new Supra and Skyline..I will have to wait and see first.

But if its the used Supra 93-98 and Skyline R32, R33 and R34?

I would choose the Supra over the Skyline mainly because of parts availability. Things will break when you add more HP and when they do break its easier to just walk over to your local Schmucks, Action...to buy the parts you need instead of waiting for a box from Japan.

And if you look at drag racing now the street Supras of Titan Motorsports and Paul Efantis' are already going faster than any Skyline Japan brought over. Doing an 8 second 1/4 mile using DOT drag radials is just insane.

skyline are coming out in 2005-2006
R35 Infinity Skyline GTR with a body style almost like the G35
They already have new skyline in japan, but they're V35 Nissan Skyilne GT which uses the 3.0 v6 motor.
the new R35 will have a V6 twin turbo motor, that pushes 450hp

What's with all these new cars (like the above Skyline and the new Mitsu Lancer) with Pontiac grills? Take a cue, car manufacturers -- NO ONE wants their car to look like a Pontiac.

I know the boys over at Nissan are in love with the new VQ powerplant but the should really have stuck with the RB26DETT. it's been the heart and soul of the Skyline and, other than the 2jz, is porbably one of the most bad *** engines around. Other than that I'm glad to see they're sticking with the AWD and the 2+2 set up. Anyone know if it's gonna wear the Nissan or Infiniti badging?

I heard from an inside source that the US won't get the GT-R, but I hope they're wrong.

About the RB26 and 2JZ, I keep hearing that they don't meet new Japanese emissions standards...

SCC did an article on the R35 last year and said that the GT-R was coming over. I hope they don't change their minds.

R32 gtr would be my pick. I like the fact that they are relatively smaller, as well as lighter, but still pack the RB26. I would Stick some HKS twins on it, standalone, add suspension and wheels, ans then do some minor body work. This is from a driver's perspective. From a bling bling lotta money application, i would take the a R34 with big twins and a grex sequential.

Edit: oh yeah, RBs sound better too.

man The VQ35 is not bad for a "Japanese muscle engine" but since when did Japanese muscle engines really hit it big. And also, V6 don't go well with Turbo at all. Look at how successful the Supra TT and GTRs were, and look at how the 300ZXTT and 3000GT VR4 got left behind.

What Toyota needs is a 3JZ-GTE with 3.5 liter TT and what Nissan needs is RB30DETT Even the non-GTR Skylines in Japan used 2.5 liter single turbo that's cabable of 300~400hp reliably.

They already have one. It is a hybrid motor that japanese tuners piece together over there.

What makes V6's not go well with turbos? Jaguar was successful with their XJ220

Just how successful was the XJ220? I think it had some crazy top speed (200mph+) but that's about it. It made I think 550~600hp out of a 3.5 V6, which can be done with a heavily modded EJ20 or 4G63 (both 2.0 liter). and can EASILY be reached with both inline 6 turbo monsters.

300ZXTT and 3000GT VR4 looked great on paper. THe VR4 even had 6-speed, AWD, AWS, and active aero to go with the package. Since when was the VR4 successful? I gotta say I like both the 300ZX and the VR4 but I'll take GTR or SupraTT over those ANYDAY.
