The late 90s Honda Legend/Acura RL was one of my dream cars as a teen. There isn't a single Honda/Acura sedan since that has come since looking as regal as this. The longitudinal layout gives it true RWD proportions, not a half-assed attempt like the new TLX.
If only they took the final step and actually made it RWD, instead of going the Honda+ route in later versions.
I personally did not like that car at all- thought it had totally derivative styling which just set Acura's RL model on a path to mediocrity for the rest of its time. This Legend was handsome though:
And my submission is the B8 Audi A5:

I don't see it as being any more derivative than what others like Infiniti or Lexus were doing at the time with the Q45 and LS400. Compared to those, this was far more handsome. And it was the transverse RL following this one that sent Acura down the path of lame...

I didn’t post the Q45 and LS400 in this thread for exactly that reason. They were all uninspired from a styling front.
^^^^^ Although the CRX's brakes, even in the Si version, were not very impressive, and its non-power steering was a little on the slow side for a car of that small size and weight, the CRX was a real icon....well-built, economical, and fun to drive. The Del Sol that replaced it in 1992-1993, IMO, couldn't hold a candle to it, even though it was fun in the sun with the removable roof panel.
