Agreed. Nothing groundbreaking in the interior but pleasing all the same.

The infotainment and HVAC are yanked straight from the GV60 rather than the G80/GV80/GV70. I think this is supposed to be Genesis's new infotainment system.

As usual, Genesis doesn't seem to care much for the fancy ambient cabin lighting of the Germans.

Kinda meh IMO. Interior materials look good. The centre gauges and the screen are pretty good. The steering wheel is nicely done. Seats look good. Not liking the door panels or the centre console. The HVAC buttons and the design looks out of place and terrible for such an expensive car. Exterior I don't like in any way. Pleasantly surprised about the supercharged option.

Does the G90 have real leather or artificial stuff / leatherette? Curious comment in the article Hoovey posted above

The interior has been coated in antibacterial Silver Zinc Zeolite material to diminish the probability of bacteria and microorganisms growing on the artificial leather.

I'm surprised, I thought you weren't too keen on 6-cylinder engines in your flagships.

According to several sources I looked at, the leather strips on the dash and console mention tanning, so they seem to be the real stuff. The specs on the seats, at least on the Korean-market versions (the American specs haven't been fully released yet), are, as you note, unclear. Some articles say leather, others artificial stuff. Personally, I'd probably bet on a combination...with real leather on the primary seating-surfaces and fake stuff elsewhere.

I'm sure its a combination of the two. Even my S Class is a combination of the two unless you have one of the very top interior packages most cars dont have.

I'm not, but its not the only factor. If the car is really great in all other areas and the engine feels good I would still consider it. The TTV6 is not what kept me from getting the LS500, for instance.

‘I think the highest end stuff has leather seats all around. Not just the seat surface.

You would be giving up 100 horses as well as a transmission gear as the G90 uses a 8 speed. You’d have less HP than the LS460 you had and that dated back too 2007

That wouldn’t surprise me on the G90 but I bet that’s not the state of it base.

It would be way cheaper too. My next car will probably be cheaper than my S560, im not going to continue to spend more and more money on a car, it gets to the point where it’s a diminishing return. The only other really expensive car that I have always wanted is a Range Rover…

I dont really care about power. If it feels the way I want it to feel then it’s fine with me.

The outgoing G90 only does seat surfaces on the top V8 trim

the 'highest end stuff' - you mean like a bentley? Other than niche very expensive brands i'd bet all flagship luxury vehicles do not use only leather. With modern 'fake' equivalents so good, i think the days of leather are numbered, and i'm glad for that.

Your comments are based on the current g90, not the new one coming which we don't know what power/gears it will have.

discussions like this will all be moot soon anyway... first of all once you get to 300, 400, or more horsepower, any car is quick. second, a lucid air for example has a THOUSAND horsepower, and all flagship EV cars are going to have massive (500+) hp. unless one is buying a flagship to go to the drag strip, differences in power are not very relevant. What's more important is refinement, quietness, and especially ride and steering.

Having more horsepower on paper and more gears doesn't do you any good lol. For all its claimed extra horsepower and gears the current LS500 isn't any faster than a G90 3.3T, and they both weigh within a hundreds pounds apart. And the fastest 6-cylinder flagship in this segment is still the 740i, which has "only" 320 HP.

It's a moot point anyway when we know that the electric G90 is just around the corner and will outrun pretty much any V8 flagship in existence.
