I live in South Africa and bought an import from Japan that is called a grey import. It is a Land Cruise 100 V8 - Cygnus year 2000. I am trying to find out if my SUV is a Toyota Lexus or a Toyota Land Cruiser. It is the best car I have ver owned and it has an intermittant "won't start" problem that Toyota South Africa can't find the problem. They need an English Repair Manual with a EWD to trace the problem. The Cygnus was never imported into South Africa by Toyota and therefore not as well equipped to diagnose and repair any faults. They can fix mechanical faults, but seem to battle with electro-mechanical problems. Any suggestions as to where we can locate a Repair Manual would be appreciated.

Lexus\Toyota = same thing. In North America that Toyota Land Cruiser is rebadged as a Lexus LX470

If it says land cruiser on it it’s a land cruiser. The Lexus lx is similar but not exactly the same. you should seek a Toyota Land Cruiser service manual for your vehicle

Yep, believe that’s how they sold the LX in Japan. But if you can log into TIS I’d still try to download the materials for your specific Toyota land cruiser Cygnus model if available. If not try Lexus lx470 2000

 

What kind of a license plate is that? It has no visible Geo Location Designation at all, such as Country, Region, City...
