I think the price is a LOT higher than most people estimated.
Base price at MSRP of $106k is not bad but a well equipped Z07 package car will be in the $160s. Spending that type of $$$ and going into a Chevy dealer for service will be interesting. Hopefully many ppl will back out on their orders but I doubt it. The early cars will still have ADMs of $50-100k.

do both. get the viper, have fun, then trade for the z06 later.

side note: why is it called a z06? and why not a z08 now?

not gonna find a base one, who spends over 100k on a car to get the base model? Dealers are going to order their allocations fully loaded. Dont be surprised at $200k+ marked up fully loaded Z06s

The $150k I was suggesting was a 3LZ Z07 with both carbon fiber packages and the CF wheels.
whoa fairly close predictions

LOL you must not know some of the Vette crowd - go visit the forums.
Many are planning to get base versions without Z07 pack.
Dealers will order fully loaded cars for sure and I think first ones will go with heavy markups but GM will build a zillion of these so don’t expect that to last.

If i ever get allocation- i would do Z07 coupe with exposed CF.

You can get a Huracan Technica for $300k so I doubt anyone will spend same $$$ on Vette.

The 2023 Z06 packs a mind-blowing 670 horsepower by way of a 5.5-liter, naturally aspirated, flat-plane crank V8, making it the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 ever put into a production car. Period. And in case you'd forgotten, even the supercharged 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing offers just 668 ponies.
BFD. A misleading article. Torque is the REAL figure, not HP. What this article doesn't say is that the Blackwing V8 offers 659 ft.lbs of torque vs. 460 for the Z06. Yes, like it or not, supercharging DOES make a difference.

Of course, to be fair, the Z06 is smaller and lighter than the Caddy, and doesn't need as much power to turn in the same performance.

thanks yeah joking, but i didn't know where the z06 name came from (and still don't, except the z being the initial of the original engineer ).

i'm just not that up on corvette history.

i think there's been z07 trims and zr1? (why not z01 or is the 'r' for racing or something?).

I watched that 5 min after it dropped and wow, simply an amazing car and I'm so happy to see the engineers were finally allowed to make the car they really wanted to make. Cars like these have a soul and emotion to them that numbers machines just don't have

I agree I don’t think it’s a great looking car but that engine is amazing and for the price it’s unbelievable.

yes i don't really like the side, front, or rear looks or proportions, especially in bright colors with all the lines/shapes/recesses, black bits on color, etc.
mid-engine drives the side profile though.

regardless, it's an amazing car.

I wasn’t a fan of the new styling but seeing it all summer at the car meet. A work of art. This new ZO6 is unbelievable.

Don’t forget the engine is handcrafted too
