Thanks, although the Navigator changes are mostly unnoticeable to average person. Cleaning up the U554 (Navigator) styling changes (as an engineer) I had most involvement on 2 years ago, then onto P708 and etc. The pandemic has forced launch of these 2022 SUVs into March 2022. Job 1 is January 18th for both, instead of Q3 2021 as planned originally back in 2018 product planning targets.
Poor GM also set out in early 2018 to fix these T1XX trucks for Model Year 2021, even BEFORE the 2019 modes had entered dealers Because of the pandemic, they delayed them one more year from 2021 to 2022 MY and in my opinion it paid off nicely. I can't imagine what adding another year to this refresh effort, allowed greater room for in terms of extra lead time for engineering improvements.
Personally I have generally hated GM styling for pickups excluding the clean cut late 80s-90s GMT400 and maybe the handsome late 2000s to mid-2010s Sierras. GM pickups are often too cold feeling and commercial grade on the interior, rarely being a warm environment compared Ram, Toyota, or Ford.
Hope they did a good job on fixing the cartoonish looking Sierra for 2022, as I hate current version and its messy design cues.
