That's not going to happen because it's so tiny inside. I'm not huge (6'4") and I legitimately fit better in a 3,300 lb RAV4 than I do in a 6,000 lb LX (at least the previous version, obviously I haven't sat in the LX600 yet). That's an utter fail. There is literally no full-size SUV that has anywhere near as little interior space as a an LX. you have to get down to a compact CUV like the Rogue to give the LX the win.

They really should have stretched the LC platform and made a (legitimately) full-size BOF SUV to compete with the Escalade, Grand Wagoneer, Navigator, etc. With the Lexus name and reputation there would be no keeping them in stock. It would absolutely dominate. Instead we've got a compact CUV on a truck frame that weighs three tons and costs $125k. How does that make sense?

you have a good point but most people are not 6'4 and over 200lbs.(I am not saying you are) I get it, it needs to have better interior space. I also agree and was hoping they make the LX somewhat larger or have better 3rd row + cargo space. The build quality of the American SUVs are subpar... they look great new but after 2-3 years of use the difference is there. The you have the Long term reliablity issues etc.
I was looking to upgrade the LX to whatever I can find pretty much looked at everything including few Navigators and Escalade. Sequoia was close but interior is all plastic. Came close to a navigator even had once of them in my driveway for 2 weeks the extra space spoils you. with 3 kids and long trips I wish the LX had more space and I think its a win for lexus if they come out with larger version of LX.

Agree, I believe the high-end Range Rovers are longer than the cheaper ones??

If that back seat area is as small as it looks the 200 has more rear seat space.

An LX600L would make a ton of sense for the US. The wheelbase in the LX is very short, which creates this space issue and also contributes to a choppy ride compared to other big SUVs. A LWB version would help both issues.

The back seat area looks really small because of those big UL seats, it will be better with a normal bench seat.

People will always want to cry abt something. The same people that cried abt the outdated V8 are the same people complaining abt the TTV6. And they know who they are in this thread. What is considered a truck engine anyways? An engine is an engine as long as it can perform its duties capably.

Toyota always had dedicated truck engines for their trucks and SUVs. Now, they just use the same engine designed for a car. There is almost no performance advantage for this V6….yet price increased

Most of the reviews of this new TTV6 engine I have seen on the new Tundra have been very positive. It’s quicker and more efficient than the V8. Don’t see any reason why this wouldn’t do well in the new LX.

It will do fine. Gearheads will miss the V8, though. People complained about it? It sucks gas, but that's it for negatives. Sound and feel are intoxicating, I barely listen to the radio. Even Grandma driving you hear and appreciate it.

Jill is correct, though. 5.7 was made for truck duty while this 3.4tt is also a car engine. I have looked for modifications to this engine made for truck duty but I haven't found much. I'm sure they did something.

That hasn’t been true for a long time. The 5.7 is basically the 4.6 as an example…

Drivability is a huge improvement with this V6, they will feel much preppier down low.

i was thinking same... even the old 4.7 V8 4runner's engine was a derivative of the LS400 4.0 V8 i believe.

the added displacement was for low end torque.

Those engines are not the same. One was used for a truck, one used for a car. However G350 and a Tacoma now use the same motor

What Toyota car is currently using the 5.7 engine?
Spoiler

Yep, it is a UZ motor. 2UZ, 1UZ was in the LS400 and 3UZ in the LS430.
