A SC300 in 1994 was the same as a SC430 retail? I don't think so?

i have the window sticker from the 2nd sc300 i bought it was a 1995 renaissance (SP?) red coupe, its sticker said something almost 50K it was 49,XXX so not as much as the sc430 but still quite a hefty price tag. i still love the car so much this is my 4th lexus, and 3rd sc300 i am on right now, they are just the my most favorite of cars....

I know alot of guys that want to pick up a old SC since its a Lexus and they can show off for the girls. Trouble is they want to spend 4-5k and then they cant find one!! I always remind them, the SC was/is the top of line Lexus model and has always commanded a 45-50k+ price of admission.

To this day I see 93's going for 11-12k, now THAT is resale value

I just found out via www.cars.com. that a 1994 sc300 commanded about 38,000. While the GS commanded about 41,000. The sc400 was an extraordinary 50,500. wow.....

Performance from a 32-valve, 4.0-liter, aluminum V8 is huge. Initial acceleration projects the car ahead of anything except six-figure machinery at stoplights, and always with an intimidating growl.

The coupe's mid-range power is made quicker still by the electronically controlled automatic transmission (Lexus has ordained that hand-foot purists will have to do without a five-speed manual) and almost imperceptible shifting. All of which makes high-speed freeway maneuvering a matter of seeing a space and then filling it.

The speed-assisted steering remains faithful in feel throughout the speed range despite a momentary heaviness when transitioning quickly from left to right. The brakes would stop a grizzly bear falling out of a tree. The suspension (ably assisted by Goodyear Eagles on those almost-beautiful, 16-inch wheels) is tighter than the LS400 and firm enough for driving by the seat of the pants without jarring any of their contents.
