Once again, it's true that "Just Say No" is not of much use to a real addict, but it is the best possible advice one can give (or heed) before one reaches that stage.
But again, keeping to the TW example, who is going to "just say no" to doctor-prescribed pain medication after say, back surgery? People don't think anything of it, and by the time they realize they are addicted, it's way too late. We're not talking about TW sitting around with a bunch of friends peer-pressuring him to do street drugs.
I had Lasik years ago, and the Dr gave me Vicodin before the surgery, and an Rx for Percocet after. Thankfully, there was no issue, but this was in the early 2000s, before this was really in the forefront. But that's how some people end up getting addicted. It can be that simple.
While I’m the first to agree it’s all relative and that addiction is a verrrrry real thing, just how sorry am I supposed to feel for a man worth nearly a billion dollars who was driving like a lunatic? Thankful he didn’t hurt/kill some innocent driver or pedestrian.
I didn't hear anyone asking for any of us to feel sorry for TW.
I wasn’t exactly a “good boy” from ages 18-25ish so I try not to judge. I don’t have a criminal record or anything lol but let’s just say yes I definitely knew how to party back then. I did stay away from behind the wheel though when I shouldn’t have been driving.
However I would never fool around on my spouse which would traumatize the kids, and that’s far from the only reason. Tiger seems like a sleaze bag based on his actions years back. Adultery is an absolute no no, unforgivable.
