I'm not sure I follow your line of thinking. So he takes some of that $800M and hires a chauffeur. What's the difference if he himself is driving too fast or if his chauffeur is, trying to make up for lost time? Still just as hazardous either way. The laws of physics don't care who is behind the wheel.
Come on. A chauffer wouldn't be reckless and would likely be a much better driver without a million other things on his mind like Tiger Woods. I would also not be surprised if Tiger's a "multi-tasker" on his phone while driving. He was also in an unfamiliar car. Whole thing makes no sense, he should have had a driver, or taken a private jet/helicopter.
The difference is that the Genesis SUV is not an exotic supercar. He got seriously injured in this new Genesis SUV in a single vehicle accident on a public motorway. It’s just a stretch to say that this can be spun into a win for the brand.
More like he drove recklessly and got himself in a serious accident involving multiple collisions and rollovers where the car saved his life. I'd say that's a pretty big win for the brand.
That there were no other vehicles involved ought to be considered a miracle, especially after he veered straight onto the other lane.

If Tiger Woods comes out of hospital with a rod in his leg....and words gets out he will never play professional golf again.... This GV the OFFICIAL car and brand of the tournament...very hard to spin for a win for the brand...IMO. This is the greatest golfer of all time
I am actually floored that the PR company and sponsors let him drive the official car and brand of the Tournament on the roads all alone.
Hope he gets better.

Buick sponsored him for years....until he got into that screw-up with his marriage. He's also had Cadillacs and Porsches, although I don't know if those were company vehicles or not. And his accident in the Escalade was well-publicized.
I think Woods will unfortunately never ever play professional golf again. Sad
Let's see what the doctors (and prayers) will do. Modern medical science can do some wonderful things....and You-Know-Who upstairs can do even more wonderful things. And, unlike many other sports, golf is not something that takes a lot of physical strength in one's legs. Basically, if he can swing a club, especially with his long-experience, he might be able to keep going. If his legs end up weak......well, that's what caddys and golf carts are for.

It happens all the time with the title sponsors. There were probably a lot of Genesis cars on the road near Riviera (Pacific Palisades) last week associated with the event.

I suspect that to be true as well. You can probably ask the people covering the incident right now and I bet a lot wouldn't know the model of the car; heck some may not even know he was in a Genesis vehicle at all.
Well, maybe.....but if he didn't do what Woods told him to do, he probably wouldn't have a job very long.
What does this mean? I doubt the driver would be fired for doing his job. What are you assuming Tiger is telling the driver to do, that would result in the driver being fired for not doing?

OK, I'll delete the wink. But the point about Kobe and the chopper is valid.....I'm not deleting that.
I didn't ask you to delete that, but ok.

I think it's going to come down to what the actual cause of the incident is. As mentioned previously, if it comes down to a distracted driver who was unfamiliar with the route and/or the car, it won't matter what brand the car is.
Sounds like he's already on the road to recovery. I hope he recovers well enough to continue playing (if that's what he still wants to do).

No doubt. Usually the greatest sport star is not driving the vehicle alone when sponsors are spending significant money. Just my opinion
