Can you provide us with an under-body shot of the car? I am curious about the Yamaha AVS dampers!

Are you going to do a timed Draggy run also? Would be nice to get some performance figures for Sept 10th.

Yes, in the last month, I've started real-world 0-60 testing all of my loaners with Draggy. (Even the SUVs!) And will note that figure in Sept.

No prepped surfaces or 1-foot rollout for me

The only sad part is that I didn't test the RC F Fuji Speedway (a review I'm working to finish now) so I won't be able to compare to that other than butt dyno reactions.

Hey @MPalmer , something I have wondered about with this car is what difference ASC makes in the sound. This is something is was worried about with the 350 before I picked mine up, and was relieved to see that it could be disabled. I have driven an RC F before, but I don't remember whether ASC was turned on or off. I thought it sounded great, though, and not nearly as artificial as I was expecting based on review videos, so it may very well have been turned off. Anyway, now that this car is out, I hope that the ASC is either good-sounding or defeatable.

I'll keep an eye out for a button or dial on the dash and in the menu system for sure

It'll be to the left of the steering wheel (where the automatic high beams are, pretty much).

Please let me know if you have any questions in advance!
Some questions:
1) why is the superior 10speed trans not being paired with the V8 like it is on LC500?
2) why does the IS500 not sound as good as LC500 and what is the difference in exhaust systems?
3) what is anticipated production run for IS500?

I expect for 1 and 2 above it's cost related.

1 & 2 are for sure platform related - for #1 the 10-speed does not fit the "New N" platform that the IS uses, and is meant for the TNGA-L platform cars (i.e. LC500, LS500). #2, the LC500 has true dual exhaust I believe, and the IS does not due to packaging/platform constraints.

It's not going to matter how fast this is or if it's slower than other cars with 6 cylinder engines.

NA V8

They will sell every one of these they can make, guaranteed.

What if they went GSF crazy and ask for $80-85k for the thing?

Even at $70k, its a tough sell. 0-60 in mid/low 4s is pretty standard for the M340/S4/AMG 43 crowd and those sell in the low $60k range well equipped. It would be the best car in segment at low $60k. It would be overpriced at $70k.

I don't see that happening, but we'll see.

They'll price it right. Some people won't care and just get it anyway.

IS has really got it right. A black one of those with the sport package is stunning, one of the slickest looking cars on the road.

I agree it will sell out...very popular (although I don't agree with using an engine that has been out for quite some time)
