Goes beyond the updates than the Infiniti QX80 received a few years ago. Heavy refresh, but pretty substantial updates for the tech and feature set. Continues to point to a shame that Sequoia doesn't get anything even close to this level of refresh. Hopefully Toyota has something soon.
Nice, I had a rental Armada (current design) and I must say I was very impressed with the tech, fit, and finish. It made my GX seem dated. I'm hoping Toyota does something soon but not betting on it.
Why auto companies continue to advertise SUVs (even truck-based ones like this) against Western desert/mountain scenes beats me. Image, today, means little or nothing with these vehicles. Except for the Jeep Wrangler, and maybe a couple of other here and there, few of them ever actually leave hard pavement for significant periods.
If they REALLY want to sell these vehicles, show ads with the large number of groceries or holiday-packages they can carry in their enormous cargo areas .

Similar to the comments in the Bronco Sport thread, marketing is about IMAGE, which does mean something with ANY vehicle. You've been anti Crossover/suv for a long time, so it's obviously just lost on you and you're not the intended target.
Not everyone wants to see a picture of their future car parked in a Costco parking lot or in some basic/unfinished/cluttered garage. Just the same way people don't want to see TV shows about an average, nondescript character.

well, it's still new... if i could only own one it'd be the GX easily but as a nice lease under warranty yea i'd go armada

Well, first, I have NOT been anti-crossover.....I simply believe in customers having a passenger-car choice, that's all, which, in many cases, they simply don't any more. But that's an issue we've covered in other threads, and probably doesn't belong in the one.

Disagree. Costco is how you are going to sell these vehicles. Most potential customers couldn't care less if an Armada can be a oversized Mountain-Goat. Their main concern will be loading it up at the mall.....or with kids on the way to activities.
Now, on the Bronco Sport and the Big Bend package, I agree that is mostly image. But the Bronco Sport, unlike the Armada is more likely to actually go off-road now and them....even more so for the larger Bronco. Even so, whether the BB package for the Bronco Sport actually adds sales or not remains to be seen. I started that thread because, if nothing else, it was an interesting trim-package....Oh, and Big Bend National park is a impressive place if you have ever been there. Most people haven't, simply because it is so remote....arguably the most remote spot in Texas.

The question, though, is if the Armada actually competes with the GX...seems one size larger on the outside, closer to the Sequoia and more expensive Land-Cruiser/LX570. I agree with the comments, though, that the Armada (even the former one) has a much better interior...the Sequoia is cheaply-built inside.

If I was going to a remote location like that, I'd bring the Armada towing a trailer so I can camp. You're not gonna find a Bronco that can do that

idk if i'd call the sequoia interior cheap it's just a perfectly acceptable interior for 2007 lol

Like the Armada, the Bronco itself is likely to have a higher tow-rating than the Bronco Sport, simply because of more power and a heavier-duty frame.

In the park, the two-lane road leading up into the Chisos Mountains (and the campground), BTW, is not recommended for long trailers, because of the grades and hairpins.

Bronco isn't going to have an 8500 lb tow rating. The Armada comes with a 5.6L V8 and its pretty powerful. I see plenty of Armadas and QX80s pulling trailers at Yosemite and the Utah parks. The Armada is a different buyer group than the Bronco for sure.

The Overland community tried to get the Armada some traction but for some reason at the end of the day Toyota.Lexus is the way. I guess its good for those who know
