Have a new 2021 ES. Have twice gotten into the car press the brake pushed the start button and nothing happened. No crank, no lights on the dash, no messages. Get out of the car, lock and unlock doors using the key, get back in, press brake push start button - car starts right up. Brought to the dealer but they were unable to find a cause. Anyone else had this problem?

I would try replacing the battery in the fob...

Does it do it with both fobs?

 

The OP could actually touch the fob to the start button was well. See if it starts with the key NFC
