Yeah 4 owners would concern me more than undercarriage rust

I would pass on it. Four owners is a lot for a seven year old car. I live in the south and don’t recall seeing rust like that on any LX’s like that at the dealership. Is that just a northern thing?

Yeah, its from the salt used on roadways in northern climates. You wouldn't have that in the south because nothing corrosive is ever sprayed into the undercarriage.

You do see it in warm climates close to the ocean too.

That example is actually very mild.

Yes. The thing about this truck was despite the multiple owners the interior looked absolutely brand new, seats looked showroom condition. All of these have interiors that hold up well but this one was astoundingly clean.

But the rust and lack of decent Lexus service history, pass. I’m sure it’s still an absolute tank but pass.

As for 40K, I think that is too much for a 7 year old vehicle....I’d rather just pay for a brand new LX. I think the LX is a little overpriced IMO as it is anyways...I think a LC makes more sense. IMO
$95k is outside my budget lol. Also, I’m getting one for half price when it’s pre-owned and they’re like new when cared for. 40k is expensive but they do hold values like crazy.

LC looks frumpy to me and doesn’t have the luxury features of LX.

We drive nowhere, and year and mileage don’t matter on a well cared for Toyota BOF truck as you well know. I like the older ones because they have better off road angles and 6spd auto.

Plus there’s money left for a nice Sea Ray 190 in the spring, maybe. ;-). Truck + boat = win.

Josh, what do you think? ......you're our maintenance expert. Are those stress-cracks?
No those are rusty welds. This truck is just fine, I could have cleaned that up with a wire brush and black rustoleum and you would never even know.

I was referring to those small dark lines across the welds...looked like maybe stress cracks to me. But...you know your stuff. I'll take your word for it.

It’s gone, sold. Someone bought it. These things don’t last long.

Ideally a nice one from the Atlanta (or here in Knox with luck) area will pop up eventually.

Thanks, everyone for your help!

Looks like the undercarriage of my 2008 CX-9. Unfortunately this is what we get in the Northeast.

Bingo. ^ Its where the steel overlaps. It's kind of like building a brick wall. If you stack the bricks one on top of the other, it'll fall over. If you stagger them, they reinforce each other.

Yep. Another will be along but I should have seen if they would have taken my offer.

Another thing of note is that it is REALLY nice how you can check service histories of used Lexus cars. I’ve been doing it since I’ve owned one, I pulled up my LS430 on it almost a decade ago.

I hope they don’t realize how nice this is and start to charge for it. I must have looked at 20 Lexus’ service history the years.

I am almost kicking myself for trading my 15 with 87k miles on it for 31 early this year for a new GSF and that LX was in great condition. I traded a GX for the LX for (even trade GX had 20k on it LX had about 70 last year) because we thought its about the same MPG and LX rides much nicer. I had regrets 2 days later and called the dealer to possibly buy it back. They sold it for 39999 the next day.the car needed nothing I even had the 90k service done new brakes all fluids changed..(Lexus of silver spring) so I guess these things fly fast. I have a friend who is looking and seems like the prices of these is much higher than earlier in the year.
