- Consumer Demand for BMW Brand Vehicles Outpaces Projections.
- High-Percentage of New Vehicles Arriving Pre-Sold to Customers.
- Sales Momentum Built Throughout the Quarter Ending with a Record September.
As the U.S. continues to recover during the ongoing global pandemic, the BMW Group sales network is once again fully open, and plants in Europe and the U.S. have returned to capacity. Consumer demand for BMW vehicles has also returned faster, and at a higher level, than anticipated. As a result, sales momentum built through the quarter with a strong finish, and record month in September.
“We are pleased that demand for BMW vehicles remains strong, and proud of our dealer network for the way they have adapted to this situation by accepting a higher number of advanced orders,” said Bernhard Kuhnt, president and CEO, BMW of North America. “As a result, the percentage of vehicles arriving pre-sold to customers is twice as high as prior to the pandemic, and recovery rates outperformed our projections. For these reasons, we remain cautiously optimistic as we enter the fourth quarter.”

Unable to find any Mercedes numbers, I wonder if they are down like BMW? If so, that may put Lexus back in the running for luxury sales lead for 2020. Also, as stated above unable to find any specific numbers for Lexus sales by model. Is Toyota/Lexus website no longer publishing this info for public use?

Then they should end the Lexus division and fold the NX, RX and ES into the Toyota lineup if thats the logic. They are not competitive in any other segments.
Your assertion is that Lexus isn't competitive when clearly the numbers show that not only is Lexus competitive, in some cases like BMW, they are beating the competition. I like how you cherry pick one brand to support your sweeping statement lol.
The heck you talking about? I originally said outside of the NX, RX and ES, they are not competitive in other segments. I'm not sure why you believe I'm cherry picking. MB beating everybody is a fact. Maybe I should pick Acura to show the might of Lexus. There's no fake news around here.
You have to look at average transaction prices for Lexus compared to BMW and MB and Audi, they are WAY lower. Yes they are selling a lot of cars, but they are all low end cars. Just not a luxury carmaker anymore.

Curious, where do you find the average transaction price published?
