Lexus IS F Reportedly Coming With V8 Power, Again
It definitely could because the Genesis dealer network are so screwed up and that has hurt many potential buyers. Otherwise, the IS still has to contend with the Germans still, and I would think some strong lease programs will also be in place too.
The Genesis dealer network is so short-stocked that it would be embarrassing if Lexus or any other established luxury brand can't outsell them in their current state. According to Cargurus, there's currently 152 2020 G90s listed for sale nationwide. Compare that to the 518 2020 LS500s for sale.
I'd bring up the G70 numbers to compare to the IS, but the current IS has been phased out of production for some time now for the upcoming facelift.

Like a dog chasing its tail.
You say that Genesis needs dealerships to sell, but Genesis says that Genesis needs sales for more dealerships!
Look at Tesla? Only a diminutive 50 dealerships around the country that still sells like hot cakes...
It's Catch 22 for Genesis.

Genesis dealers are your typical sales BS.
My prediction for IS is strong sales in year 1 and 2 then will fall off a cliff in typical Lexus fashion for all their RWD based cars.

What's the solution to that? obviously their current strategy isn't working. I remember going to the local Hyundai dealership for the 3.3T test drive. The environment was terrible as you'd expect. Luxury buyers expect a certain ambiance which isn't being provided at these dealerships, you're treated no differently than the guy buying that accent. The sales people also don't seem to know the difference in how to approach a luxury customer versus your typical Hyundai /Kia owner. The place i went to sold Hyundai/Kia and a tiny section for Genesis.
A lot of people forget but even the original IS F had a higher MSRP than the contemporaneous E90 M3, but Lexus options were cheaper and at least the IS F was fully competitive in performance. No surprise though that heavy discounts were available even for the first MY.
LOL that's completely false. Genesis planned to set up their own independent dealership network since their inception, until they got sued by the Hyundai dealership franchise owners because state laws didn't permit them from separating. That's why they're still grounded at Hyundai dealerships with limited lot space. Please go do some research rather than relying on your own conjecture.
No excuses.
On its first full year, there were enough Geneses dealerships in the USA to sell 10k.
No further excuses regarding dealerships please.
If the product is inferior, then consumers are not interested. Period.
This nice looking major facelifted 3.5IS should hammer the G70 in sales.
Let's see if I'm right...
Lexus really screwed up when they didn't release a 2nd gen IS F. I would have bought one 6 years ago.
But I suppose that just goes to show the importance of maintaining a customer base and keeping existing customers happy - because many loyal customers won't even know what they're missing until sufficiently disrupted. I never looked elsewhere until the IS-F was canned, now I'm not even certain I'll ever buy another Lexus.

Yea, gengar basically owns the equivalent of a Carrera GT but he's still interested in what's happening with the IS F. Mike (LexFather) who got kicked off CL years ago
has indicated even he doesn't know if it's going to happen.
Maybe a miracle IS 500 announcement will happen in November.
