Default All Lights on

If you ever see all lights on your dash comes on, do not panic just change your gas cap that simple

Could also be low on this stuff, the most ignored maintenance on a vehicle.

Nonono, it means don’t panic, change your alternator, it’s that simple

or nonono, don’t panic, figure out which speed sensor wire got ripped

Sometimes changing your gas cap will work for an illuminated Check Engine Light, because the EPA-required sensors for that system detect gas-vapors escaping past a worn or missing gas cap seal. It should also be screwed on properly.....one to three clicks on the twist-grip. Sometimes just tightening it little will also help.

I never liked that system...IMO, it should have had a separate "Check Gas Cap" sensor and bulb instead of being combined with all the other Check Engine functions. But that, of course would have meant more costs in production. And many recent vehicles from Ford and GM use the self-sealing capless system now.

I think that owning, using and understanding an obd code scanner should be part of the driver license requirement

There's two different systems...the old OBD system became OBD II after 1996. Most of the vehicles still on the road today probably use the newer system.

Honda has a had a system like that since the mid 2000s.
