The update looks great. Very modern and clean execution.
This car was on my shopping list last month, but VW closed the dealer in my city and I didn't have time driving all around in search of one. Plus not having a dealer near my homebase was a turnoff.

It’s a really cool looking car but I’ve never seen one before. I never knew it existed until this thread to be honest.

Decent update, biggest struggle is the price tag, which loaded reaches upwards of $49K with the 2.0L. The new wheel design is a bit better, that was one of the ho-hum parts of the one I evaluated back in February. Edges slightly above A5 Sportback Premium Plus pricing. So I would think that most of the VW/Audi faithful would rather have an A5 Sportback over this Arteon.

Or if you just like 4-door coupey liftbacks, there's also Stinger, which for simliar top end pricing, is going to give you a massive power lift with the 3.3 Turbo V6.

Arteon harkens back to when VW tried to be Euro-premium within the Mainstream/Mainstream+ threshold. But volume cars in America like Jetta/Passat/Tiguan/Atlas have mostly gone large, fairly cost conscious interiors, and more basic Mainstream. I know VW still has premium type products abroad like this Arteon and they still get a Touareg, but this seems like a tough sell relative to the strategy of the rest of their lineup.

i know the trend is to move away from chrome by those who i would guess are under 40, but i really like the tasteful use of chrome here alongside the bottom side of the car that runs nearly all the way around. i feel like that small detail adds both a lot of character and class.
