It sounds like Lexus offers it in SUV/tall vehicles. I think it's appropriate to include it in L, R and G. the LS and LC have visually long hoods and trunks.

Lexus offers it in the newer cars, the LS500 has it, so does the LC500.

I don't believe that is correct. I don't think the LC500 has it. There was recently a thread of LC owners lamenting over the lack of it, and there's no mention of it as standard or optional on the Lexus web site.

it's so great to see the curbs on both sides of the car, and how close the curb or other cars are in front or behind... love it.
Everyone has his priorities. I would never buy a car that doesn't handle like a champ in the twisty roads. It could have no camera, no radio, no electric windows, no automatic climate control, no HUD, no automatic, no electric seats... all this can stay away, if the handling of the car is top of the pack. 360° cars are a nice gimmick, but it's just that.

I disagree that Surround View cameras are a gimmick. I see them as a feature that uses available modern tech that will continue to grow in popularity.

Surround cameras are a gimmick for you if that's your opinion. They are also a valuable safety option if that's your opinion. No one answer is right or wrong.

I don't think you would think its a gimmick if you regularly drove a car with a surround view camera.

Agree 100%. Super added utility and function for those that have experienced a good one. A gimmick I would say it something like the "caring car" modes in new BMW's. There's "Vitalize" or "relax" the can change the HVAC settings, has little mini music clips, will open/close the sunroof shade, etc. I highly doubt anyone is using this feature, and definitely not regularly like a 360 camera.

We had a long(ish) term loaner at the end of last year that had it and it didn't matter to me much. My wife definitely liked it and that will likely be a feature we'll look for in her next SUV.

For me, as I age, I am more appreciative of any device or option on my car that helps keep me and others safer. Even if it's from a 2mph fender bender. With age comes wisdom for some.
