Default New BMW 4 Series with the beaver GRILLE

This is going to be hard to get used to and might drive me to switch to Mercedes in future if this ugly Grill will be spread across the lineup...

Audi, Acura, Lexus now BMW - why are they doing this to us?!?

I think it'll be fine. Like an angry bull ready to maul anything that gets in the way. You'll most likely only see its tail-lights as it whizzes by anyway.

I'm probably the only one that doesn't mind it. The new grills while wider, pay homage to the BMW's of the 1930's and 40's with very tall kidney's such as the 327 and 328. They didn't go smaller until the 60's and beyond

It was ugly back then too.
At least a license plate wasn’t put in the middle like it will be on new one.

I like the lexus grill. But this bmw version looks awful. I remember the bmw enthusiasts laughed at lexus with their grill. Looking forward to them backtracking with their pig nose grill.

Well, we've heard all this before, many times, on Car Chat (yes, including from myself, sometimes). A new design or style comes out, particularly if it is controversial-looking, and the pans, negative-comments, I-Can't-Stand-Its, It su*ks, It will never sell, What Were-They-Thinking, etc..... start rolling in like the waves, and we walk all over each other trying to out-pan the poster just ahead of us with our negative complaints. And, then, at least for some of us, if not most of us, the novelty of it passes, its presence becomes ingrained over time, and it is no longer the shocker or deal-breaker it was when the curtains were first taken off of it.

Not that all of us, of course, get used to everything, by any means. Chris Bangle, for example, years ago, introduced several changes and features into new BMWs that I despised back then, and still despise today. I never liked the Audi MMI system, and still don't. But, for many other things, what I complained about at one time has become so commonplace that my mind has simply become acclimatized to them...the Lexus spindle-grilles is one example, which I still don't particularly like, but are not necessarily a deal-breaker anymore. I suspect that it will be the same thing with these new BMW grilles.....we'll hear a lot of complaining at first, then less and less as time goes on.

Don't think you would say the same thing if you saw the sedan version... E-Class is now a LWB A-Class.

I really love how the new Eclass coupe looks especially the E53 amg with the Panamera grill.
The interior with the new steering wheel is on another level.

I may be an easy sell, but I don't see anything wrong with either one. They both look like understated modern upscale sedans to my eye. The new one has an updated current look while still being a MB.

Hideous. The whole world has to suffer from the auto industry pandering to horrible Chinese tastes.
