Tesla Model Y quality issues
or in Teslas case, better to seek forgiveness than go out of business.
As they mature, i'm sure they will have to conform to quality standards but their rabid fan base seems to not care all that much. Go visit a Tesla forum and for every buyer with a quality nitpick, a hundred will make excuses. I would say most buyers here should never get a Tesla. Totally different value proposition for Lexus buyers and they just wouldn't be happy at all with the company.

Very strange indeed. Its the Elon way - the latest cars as of 2018 have graphic visualizations of all objects around you, but not a traditional camera view. So essentially it does have something like a 360 degree view but not in the traditional sense.
My 2016 Model S does not have a blind spot monitor. For such a technologically advanced car in this day and age to not have a BSM is beyond me.
It has 12 proximity sensors (6 on each bumper), but that's not the same thing as a proper BSM as the range of the sensors is a few feet. The version of AutoPilot in my car is AP1 and if you have the system on and try to change lanes by pushing down or up on the indicator lever, the car will automatically change lanes "safely" by utilizing the proximity sensors - that's fine if a car from behind is not very close to you, but it can be still be dangerous to change lanes if it's not too far (out of range of the proximity sensors). For cars ahead of you, it's not a problem as it uses the 3 cameras and sensors in front of the car for that. No camera's on the side or rear of my car (other than the backup camera which is NOT used for AP), hence it uses just the proximity sensors.
I guess I got lucky with the other issues that forums are filled with - I have zero panel gap issues, paint is perfect and so far has been extremely reliable. I had one issue fixed under warranty (faint rattle noise coming from the front suspension). Having said all of this, I can NEVER see myself going back to any ICE car (and I had a Lexus GS prior to this). The smooth electric drive, silence of the powertrain and its relentless/insane thrust far outweigh the shortcomings in my mind.

Watching You Tube TF Car reviews. Their model Y door is stuck....can’t open door...3X now.
I have never ever had a door not open for any of my cars all the way back decades and decades and decades.

You've probably never had a vehicle with a gull-wing door. They have had problems for decades, going back to even the famous Mercedes SL of the 1950s. And, among the worst cases, besides the Model Y, were the De Lorean sports cars of the early 1980s.
Go to pretty much an auto forum and it will be filled with complaints, try a BMW forum holy schnikes I'd be so frustrated owning one. Not to excuse Tesla in any way I think panel gaps and paint quality is a basic thing any auto maker should get right.
That's why Tesla owners are apparently willing to deal with quality issues the upsides far outweigh any problems.

Well if you go from a Honda Civic to a LS in terms of power you would never want to go back either........but try a model S after steping out of an equally priced ICE performance car. There is no comparison at all once you are past 80 or pushing the cars through turns to say nothing of the act the Tesla has all the emotion of a leaf
This is illustrated, not just by people buying/leasing Tesla products, but also with the huge numbers of investors buying Tesla stock and bidding it up to insane prices. If and when the Tesla stock-bubble ever bursts, it's going to be a bang that is heard around the world.

while i hate the TFL clickbait videos and the style, i'm really glad they've brought attention to MAJOR quality issues tesla continues to have. it's pretty stunning people are so enamored by elon musk, tesla, and EVs that they're willing to deal with all that. me? not a chance.
So funny. BTW, the Model 3 had these quality issues too in the first year. They were pretty bad but subsequent years were much better. Mine didn't have any quality issues and it was in the 2nd production year.
