Cheetah mode, ludicrous mode, Plaid mode. Lol.

Exactly. Spaceballs was long enough ago that it feels like an inside joke. And I think that's awesome.

you get the same feeling from AMGs and M cars generally. The Teslas feel a bit stronger to 60 though and the others feel better afterwards. In the end, we all appreciate performance cars!

you used to at least... that's what makes the supercharged V8 models the best to me, near tesla levels of immediacy at any rpm and it just keeps pulling like hell while making the most awesome heavy duty hot rod sounds

even steve jobs drove an SL55, and a new one every 6 months so he could take advantage of a california legal loophole allowing him to drive without a license plate lmao

I see your point we should be making cars slower and slower.

I think "hate" is a bit much; "gentle mockery of irrelevant features" is probably more accurate.

As for the Spaceballs theme, I think one of the coolest features is not "plaid," but rather the ability to simply fast-forward the tape to see how this all sorts out.

"We're at now-now!"

"When will then be now?"

"Soon!"

you have that wrong. people aren't complaining at all, I for one simply said dropping 0-60 from 2.5 to 2.3 is not relevant, except maybe to juveniles.

that's simply untrue. tesla has done some incredibly innovative things and has dominated a load of threads on here. is a tesla for everyone? if you said yes I think you'd be wrong. are teslas very unique with some spectacular features? yes. are they missing some things that are on other cars? yes. is their quality control pretty pitiful? yes. do most people on clublexus hate teslas? I don't think so. I've considered an X by the way.

you know what they say about sarcasm... how about trying to be serious for a moment... if tesla does another software update that takes it from 2.3 to 1.9 seconds just for major bragging rights of being under 2 seconds, who does that REALLY matter to? I guess tire manufacturers will be happy at least.

Jealousy is an ugly thing.
the comments here do not seem to be about jealousy, they're about the real world relevance of going from 2.5 to 2.3s 0-60.

I think I fall into the juvenile category. I love the fact that they make the car quicker and quicker. It’s not about real world relevance, it’s just fun to floor it sometimes and feel the pull even if no ones around. I would love for BMW to do an update an increase the boost but we know that is not likely.

However, like you said, a Tesla isn’t for everybody and it’s just not for me right now. In the next few years that could always change and I would love to try one if their lease rates ever become reasonable.

if you have a tesla, and have friends with teslas, i'd say it's very relevant people at that point in their lives are past 'real world relevance'

and jealousy frequently likes to be discreet

Only juveniles like fast cars I didn't know that. Odd thing to say on an apparently enthusiast site but okay.
I've noticed some fanboys don't own one either.
There is a difference between not owning one but still appreciating the tech, and not owning one and taking every opportunity to slam the company no matter what they do. Savvy?

I read most every thread here at least partially Tesla is slammed more than any other auto maker I doubt it is even close. Every single thread about Tesla turn into, well you know what happens.

How is bragging rights for having a fast car a negative? What is going on here?

Real world as apposed to what? You don't want performance in the real world? I don't understand this line of reasoning at all. I'm guessing you know what the hard cut off line is for performance, so what is it exactly? Because in your book Tesla has become so fast they are for immature fanboys.

You get 40+ horsepower, the Cheetah Stance, more battery endurance due to cooling. My Model 3 has had 2 power updates since I bought in June. both added 25+ horsepower and you can definitely feel it. The car is pushing over 500hp easy and it those power updates were free.
How does hp work for a BEV? All I ever see with Tesla updates are 0-60 times which is great but does the hp increase also increase trap speeds in the 1/4 mile like a ICE car? If my M340 has 500hp the trap speeds would increase close to 120mph.

The traps increase for sure. I think the P3D was getting 11.8 in the 1/4th trapping 114mph pre power bumps..now it gets 11.4 and traps 117 in the 1/4th. Its definitely gotten faster due to the updates and it feels like it.

That's what is so awesome about electric you can increase both efficiency and power through software. Cherry on top is usually it is done for free over the air no dealer visit necessary.
