Default 1986 BMW 325iX — never registered

315 miles — for sale at Koenigsegg dealer

The previous (and original) owner intentionally kept the sedan unregistered, which explains why it's not as worn as the never-registered Italian and French cars uncovered in Argentina earlier in 2020. The anonymous collector bought it because it was BMW's first all-wheel drive car, Huntley explained. He felt it belonged in his collection. It's a 1986 325iX, which is BMW-speak for a second-generation 3 Series with a 2.5-liter straight-six engine and all-wheel drive. It's one of the more desirable members of the E30 family, especially when fitted with a five-speed manual transmission the way the driving deities intended, and this one is extra-special because it has never been registered. Its odometer reads 508 kilometers (315 miles).

SuperVettura's is undoubtedly the cleanest example left anywhere in the world, and it's priced accordingly at £48,000, a sum which represents approximately $60,000 at the current conversion rate. That's on par with a new 2020 M2

Always cool to see a car this old that has remained pristine since the moment it rolled off the assembly line.

Me neither. I always assumed late 90's.

Do you know what the green to red lights are for on the dash?

I will say, they don't build em' like they used to. I love everything about it.

Great example, I recall fondly wanting one of these back in the day.

Without a doubt, BMW was way ahead with their dash design. Absolutely perfect shapes, sizes, and placement. The canted center console and balanced air vents are above most of today's offerings. We had an older Toyota come up in this forum not too long ago with a similar winning design.

No, they are not all shift indicators, especially with a manual transmission. I know the yellow light is for Inspection, but I'm not sure what the greens and red are for.

i was surprised enough that the E30 had an AWD option so i figured shift lights weren't out of the question lol... you're right though it has to do with the service interval

i gotta say that's a cool way of doing it

So...do you keep it bone stock, or do you upgrade those lame wheel covers to period aluminum wheels?
