Had to think what year is 25 years ago lol. It would seem I didn't pay attention to gas prices and mpgs until I bought a new car in 1998. But with that Nissan, in a very short time, I experienced 76.9 cents/gal, and $2.139. Think about it, maybe the $2.139 was 17 years ago. It's less than $2.139 today--now think about one's salary (that I do remember all the way back to my first job). That's why to see gas in the low $1's is not healthy. Our friend's husband got word they now have a 20% pay cut effective this year. How demoralizing is that, not to mention folks like my brother let go and he has a new Raptor. And look at that spread between regular unleaded and diesel. I always felt we should be like the rest of the world where diesel is < unleaded.

We have 1.66 as of this morning right outside Charlotte NC. It seems to lower every other day. Im sure it will go back up once OPEC slow down production of crude. it is nice right now to fill up cheap though.

Down in WV gas was about $1.79 a gallon for regular. On the trip down there I saw $1.21 at a truck stop for regular. Here it’s about $2.20, $2.75 for premium.

Ot would be fun if it weren’t a product of such a terrible thing...

Made a Sam's senior hour run this morning. Sam's is about 6 mi from the house. Regular gas was $1.47, closer to home stations are at $2.29. Sam's premium was $1.87.

By the way, Sam's had plenty of toilet paper, but there is a 1 package limit. After Sam's, stopped at liquor store. Apparently there is a margarita mix shortage.

Northern Virginia, if you use the GetUpside app, I see Regular grade prices around $1.71 factoring in the cash back the gas station offers.

Are those prices for Top-Tier brands? Yes, many stations with lower-quality fuel sell it for under $2.00......but you may not be saving any money in the long run, because you may (?) have to add fuel-system cleaner to compensate for the lack of detergent-additives in cheap gas-brands.

Yes, this is for Shell, BP, Mobil. Most around Arlington are under $2 prior to the cash back. $1.82 is the lowest BP prior to their $0.12 per gallon cash back offer. So effectively $1.70/gallon

Monte Hall Paradox ain't so much probability theory as the fact that Monte knows where the car is, so he'll never open that door when he offers to "help."

About $1.99, a few times I saw $1.95, here in Miami for regular, but with Premium it is anywhere from 2.65 to $2.99 at most stations. With my CT200h, I still run Premium like I did with my RX300 and found mileage is at least 3 mpg above when I tried running 87 (I know people have told no issue with running 87 and getting good mpg, but real life examples tell me differently). Been rotating among shell, mobil and chevron.

I think regular was $1.67 last night here at a local QuikTrip. I paid $2.17 for ethanol-free 91. Not bad!

My CT200 was premium if I recall. Never really liked filling it with premium. My previous LX470 was premium and then the same engine did my 4Runner is regular.

For some reason, I have tried on short and long trips (had to take a few long ones around the state before the virus hit), I tried 87 octane and then 93 and the mpg was definitely higher with the premium. I do not mind spending more money for it. The premium habit I grew up with as it was all my father put in his vehicles and then when I lived in Mexico it was 99% premium except on some emergency occasions, as down there there was a noticeable difference in performance and mpg between regular and premium with Pemex gas.

My ex had an 06 4Runner V8 and it worked just fine with regular.

How much in general is the mpg figure higher for non-ethanol gas? I would guess about 5%, but really have no experience with it.
