the AMG shouldn't have won on a track, it must not be very smooth riding... disappointing the direction AMG is going, there's something awesome about a car that's very fast and squishy

I like the Lexus is300 Sportcross on small mountain roads. After a coilover swap and a new set of sway bars, the balance of the sportcross is supreme for twisties. Don't know a wagon that handles better.

yes I'm well aware that AMG was an independent company that helped Mercedes achieve motorsport victories, but those are racing cars, cars that will almost exclusively be used on a road are better when they ride softly

the AMG model of a Mercedes is still a Mercedes first, something that will crush the autobahn not the autocross... modern AMGs just aren't as nice to take long drives in

Stroock has a point. I partially, though not totally, agree with him. An over-emphasis on sport-orientation has taken the comfort out of a lot of today's suspensions and wheels/tires. Fortunately, at least, Mercedes knows how to provide comfort on its bread-and-butter models.
