I think Toyota had a sales record in May 2021 for this mode. 28,834

I am not quite a fan of the model and I remember all the bashing for the size of the model and the direction Toyota went with their downsized hybrid...but looks like Toyota was right with their direction

The Highlander was going to sell the best regardless of how it was designed, doesn't mean its the best 3 row crossover. Toyota loyalists are going to buy it and not even look at anything else.

28k is just insane! That’s compact suv numbers.

Not sure about that. Hybrid trims sit the longest on the dealer lots vs the gas trims.

Hybrid Limited takes nearly a month longer the sell than the gas, Hybrid XLE also sits about 3 weeks longer on a lot than the gas XLE. Hybrid LE sits the longest of any Highlander configuration at nearly 3 months.

Most popular is an XLE gas configuration.

Nice spin. But the Highlander set a record for their sales numbers. Even with the global chip shortage. Hybrid takes longer because it’s more expensive and has a limited buyer that is willing to give up faster performance in the name of fuel economy

Not spin, just showing that Hybrid doesn't seem to be the lynchpin of the Highlander's current success. Whereas with Rav4, it definitely seems to be a strong positive contributor for the model line. But with the RAV4 Hybrid presents both a stronger power figure and fuel economy. Highland Hybrid this go around does not deliver on that.

Toyota Highlander Hybrid actually is the lynchpin for the success. In Q1 Toyota Highlander hybrid sales were up 408% Very successful for Toyota.

When I was looking at the RAV4 2 years ago, the hybrid was only $800 more for the same gas-powered trim level. How much more is the hybrid upcharge for the Highlander?

Great, up Year over Year over a terrible quarter for most cars and country started to go into lockdown and new Highlander Hybrid had a late launch relative to the rest of the Highlander lineup, so there were literally none to sell in Q1 of 2020.

Toyota has cranked up Highlander Hybrid mix, but they've shown the be the lowest in demand, relative to that supply, amongst Highlander configurations.
