not trying to rain on the parade..but, wouldn't it be easier for lexus/toyota to use what TTE(the trd equivalent) of europe that already has a prototype IS430 supercharged?..just a thought...
if the car could be priced ~$40 - $45k(loaded), then we have a solid winner

They do however have a lot of info on the swap that could be used by Rod Millen.

The black one they have running did cost a pretty penny though.

Just some of my thoughts but...
I don't think this says much about Lexus bringing out an IS430. Isn't the body supposed to change in a few years? Also, why have Rod Millen do the swap when it can be done inhouse for knowledge on manufacturing it with the V8 or at least through TTE? It has a 6-speed... I think we all know what Lexus thinks of Manual transmissions in their cars.
I could see them doing this if it was to put on the race track, but not for consumer consumption.
But then again they could all surprise us... BUT I remember the last few 'surprises' have been less than stellar (no eshift on GS, arguable styling on newer SC and LS, etc)

i agree about the lack of good surprises from lexus recently.
I don't find anything wrong with Rod Millen, I just think its odd that Lexus (or any major car manufacturer) would contract out to a specialty car tuner to do ANY prototyping for a new model. These things are usually done in house, especially when the engine and chassis is their own.

this type of project needs mucho $$$$...just that few yrs ago RMM already claimed that there will be a solid supercharged(if memo serves me correct )..but yrs had gone by, nothing..so, my point is that lexus/toyota chould and should pick a soild tuner(toms, tte, trd..etc) and have few cars on the table, like the M from bmw and AMG from benz....
then again, such goes back to the same old question, does lexus/USA, toyota japan wants to take on the hot rpoject of providing tuned cars straight from the factory??
judging from the fact that superautobac has already landed in the USA, that should be the answr for toyota of japan...
